I'm not as pessimistic. The thing about last year was, we had a 4 year beast in Braden Smith. Austin Golson was another huge bad ass that had about 800 starts between us and the Black Land Bear Sharks. Casey Dunn was a starter for JSU (BTW, if anybody hasn't checked out their recent history...worth your time. Unbelievable) and one of the best in the SEC.
It wasn't like the guys behind them were shit, or even suspect. We just had a very talented and experienced line last year. Driscoll has 20 starts at the D1 level and the players rave about his abilities. Harrell, Horton and Winnebago all have a good amount of experience. Bottom line, Kim is the only one with question marks. I'm good as long as they stick with this 5 and let them gel.
Grimes is real high on Driscoll-UMASS business degree and all. So there's that.
Just that Horton has been heralded forever as this coming force and he looks to be a starter mostly by default.
Bottom line...this is the weak link of the team due to lack of starts and lack of time playing together as a unit.
Very suspect but Washington should give us a read on what's to come.
It's okay to be critical about this unit considering we don't have a big churning back and if Stidham starts getting knocked around we have problems.
