As much as I hate ole miss and am amused by this abomination it should be noted: 

The vast majority of students, alumni and fans opposed this freak of nature.  It’s theirs now so they are obligated to defend it but they did not ask for it.  They didn’t want the stupid bear either. 

Nay, it was a wispy, triggered cabal of academic ‘elites’ (who are in my experience some of the dumbest, least productive/valuable people in this country) who caved to real and imagined pressure from a small but vocal swarm of social justice agitators who have no affiliation with or affinity for the school. 

If they don’t fire everyone involved in this travesty? They get what they deserve.

Always chuckle at this "insult."  As Snags noted, they have a couple of conflicting ones.  UTenn is the Volunteers and they have a dog as the primary/recognizable mascot.  A&M Aggies get repped by a dog, as well.
