Florida sheriff blasts Al Sharpton over rally: 'Go back to New York. Mind your own business'
By Ryan Gaydos

A Florida sheriff on Monday responded to sharp criticism from the Rev. Al Sharpton for not arresting a white man who shot and killed an unarmed black man during a parking lot dispute last month.
Sharpton criticized Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri at a Sunday rally for Markeis McGlockton.
McGlockton was shot on July 19 by Michael Drejka in Clearwater, according to FOX13 Tampa Bay. Drekja told deputies he feared for his life and police at the time shot not to arrest him, citing the state’s “Stand Your Ground” law.

“This case should not be tried in a parking lot of a convenience store,” Sharpton said. “It should be tried in a courtroom.”
Gualtieri was asked about Sharpton’s comments Monday during a press conference for an unrelated investigation.
“It's a bunch of rhetoric. I don't pay much attention to it, to tell you the truth. I wasn't there, and I don't really care what Al Sharpton has to say,” Gualtieri said. “Go back to New York. Mind your own business.”

In a statement to the Tampa Bay Times, a spokeswoman for Sharpton compared the sheriff’s comments to “those of sheriffs out of the 1960s that used to call civil rights leaders invited in by victims, “outside agitators.’”
Sharpton plans to keep coming back to Clearwater regardless of Gualtieri’s remarks.
Florida prosecutors said last week they will review the case. The Pinellas County State Attorney said there was no time frame for how long it will take to review the case and determine whether charges should be filed against Drejka.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.

I can't recall if I posted this 2-3 weeks back, because I'm old and believe in the hereafter.  I walk in a room and ask myself what the hell I'm here after.

But, I was driving a couple of blocks from the office and I saw a cop car up ahead of me, stopped.  The Officer jumped out and ran into a vacant lot.  As I drove past, I saw this young guy confronting the cop and coming at him.  I could hear the cop yelling at him to get down on the ground, but the kid kept flailing his arms and took his back pack off and threw it at him.  Then for some reason, he took off his shoe and threw it at the cop. It wasn't until the cop pulled out his taser that the guy finally sat down on the ground.

All the while, there was a group of young people in the driveway of a house next to the lot, egging it on and screaming at the cop.  I never found out what was going on but a few hours earlier, something had happened in the area because there had been a bunch cops patrolling the area around where our office is.  I assume it had something to do with that.  But, I honestly don't get this mentality.  If a cop with a taser, a big stick, a gun and other various weapons of mass destruction on his person, along with a radio that he can use to call 100 other cops with the same equipment, tells you to stop....the proper response is to stop.  Period!!! There is no other response.  If the cop oversteps his bounds and does something he's not supposed to, that's what supervisors or ultimately, the Courts are for.  Any other response might get you tazed bro, or kilt.

Cops are human too and fear for their own lives just like anyone else.  Or, you may in fact, be dealing with the rogue or racist cop just looking for an excuse.  Who knows?  But why find out?  Just comply and sort it out later.

Morons tried to tell us this was Trump making fun of a poor innocent disabled journalist.

Yet intelligent people saw many examples of him doing that to anyone he thought was a moron.
I’m sure he would still do it to prowlie today!

And once again, on cue, another moron posts it!

I actually agree. I don't think dude should have been shot as I am not sure the guy was threatened after the initial hit. With that said, he had every right to pull his gun. And if he DID feel physically threatened, he DID have every right to pull the trigger. You can't just go around knocking folks to the ground without them having a right to defend themselves.
