Tony Franklin is full of shit if he thinks Jerell Jernigan could start over most all our guys here.  If that's so, why the fuck didn't anyone offer the kid.  He was a QB out of HS and he made his name at Troy against Middle Tenn. and Florida International.

Actually he made his name against UGA last year, with over 100 yards receiving and 2 TDS.  He also had a 45 yard touchdown against The Ohio State.  How many big plays have the AU receivers made against quality opponents?

And the main problem at AU is the assistant coaches.  CTF is trying to put in The System with a bunch of coaches who have never ran an offense that even remotely resembles the spread.  At Troy he was able to bring in some of his own coaches who played and coached in the system and who had also been running the camps for years.

Jernigan had a QB who could actually get the ball to him in under 7.3 seconds.  He's a real good athlete.  Saw him play inperson and my brother in law coached against him for two years.  My point is he's NOT better than all the athletes playing WR at Auburn and Tony Franklin is a tool for saying so.

He didn't say "Better than ALL of the athletes"....he stated that he could start at Auburn over Most of the WRs that he was seeing.

Not much difference there, is it?  He's still putting his own players down and he's still a tool for saying that?

Yep.  Franklin is an assclown.

How his brain works:
System. Me. Troy. Me. System. Me. System. Kentucky. Me. Rush Propst. Me. Me.auburn. System. High Schools. Me. System. Chris Todd. System. Me. Dumbass. Me. System. Me.

From "The Goldmine" today.   http://blog.al.com/goldmine/2008/09/tuberville_throws_his_support.html

Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville said ``I love this offense'' Tuesday, and said ``there's no panic mode'' over the less-than-productive spread.

``I'm glad we went to it,'' Tuberville said at his weekly press conference.

Tuberville said he supports what offensive coordinator Tony Franklin is doing, though said ``right now, we don't have that talent'' to run all of Franklin's spread concepts. He said that's why Auburn is ``tweaking'' the offense, that recruiting players familiar with the spread should help the cause and gaining experience through the season will make things better.

``The spread offense is a heck of an offense. We're going to run more of it as it goes.

``This is going to be very good for us.''
When you change offensive philosophies in one fell swoop , you will not have the talent.
We're in the same boat this year. Petrino didn't recruit but the freshmen on this years team , though.
Still , our OL was recruited mainly to be run blockers and the multiple pass schemes that Petrino brought with him has them flummoxed.
Our QB needs to be able to make multiple reads on a passing play instead of birddog pointing to his single receiver. Not there yet.
It takes a few years to revamp an offense , I don't care who you are.
