I don't know may UT fans, but I am surprised by the level of celebration today.  How they've gone from "Gruden is a lock, this is one of the premier coaching destinations -- nay THE premier destination -- in college football, any decent coach would crawl over glass and aids needles to get to Knoxville" .......... to..... "Chip Kelley, Mike Gundy or Gary Patterson, who should we pick?" ............  to ..........."Greg SchiaNOOOOOOOOOOOO!" .............. to ..........."Les Miles with Tee Martin would be perfect" ......to........"Jimmy, uh, Johnny, uh, Jenny whatever PREWITT!! Fuck YES!! Phil Fulmer is the greatest of all time, he went and got our first choice!! SEC is FUCKED.  Ya'll SCARED!! Tennessee is finally back!!! Fuck yeah. What a fantastic hire."

It will be hilarious high comedy if they literally rioted on moral principle over Schiano because he was on the same staff as Sandusky and no evidence of misconduct beyond that, and then hire Hugh Freeze as OC.

http://www.al.com/auburnfootball/index.ssf/2017/12/auburn_assistant_coaches_paid.html#incart_social_feature

The total pay of Auburn's football assistants ranks sixth overall and fourth in the SEC, according to USA Today's annual assistant coaches salary database.

Auburn's staff is earning $4,875,000 this season, up from $4,456,250 last year, which ranked 11th nationally and seventh in the SEC.

Defensive coordinator Kevin Steele, who is in the second year of a three-year contract, which a source said was recently extended, leads Auburn's staff with $1.2 million in compensation. Steele ranks seventh nationally among assistant coaches and is one of 15 assistants to earn over $1 million this year, with nine coming from the SEC.

Here's a look at the salaries of Auburn's assistant coaches and where they rank among their coaching peers:

-- Kevin Steele; defensive coordinator; $1.2 million; 7th

-- Chip Lindsey; offensive coordinator; $800,000; 32nd

-- Rodney Garner; defensive line; $600,000; 65th

-- Larry Porter; tight ends; $505,000; 95th

-- Herb Hand; offensive line; $420,000; 168th

-- Greg Brown; defensive backs; $400,000; 197th

-- Tim Horton; running backs; $375,000; 212th

-- Kodi Burns; wide receivers; $350,000; 253rd

-- Travis Williams; linebackers; $225,000; 457th

On TWill...I agree the man needs a serious bump.  This is the best group of linebackers in 10+ years.  He's recruited and developed as solid a group as there is in the league.  Give the man his money.  Unless there's nothing left after reworking Gus' contract.

As I recall, Pruitt has his own issues.

He left Tuscaloosa the first time under a cloud of "can't keep his pants on" whispers.  My friends of the program were "glad to see him go because it was about to get ugly if he stayed..."

Football coach.  Big man on campus.  About 12,000 young co-eds meandering around campus, oftentimes drinky-dranking.  Try keeping your pants on.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

If you call 350k good, then, I guess so. It’s apparently all a matter of perspective.
