Auburn's staff is earning $4,875,000 this season, up from $4,456,250 last year, which ranked 11th nationally and seventh in the SEC.
Defensive coordinator Kevin Steele, who is in the second year of a three-year contract, which a source said was recently extended, leads Auburn's staff with $1.2 million in compensation. Steele ranks seventh nationally among assistant coaches and is one of 15 assistants to earn over $1 million this year, with nine coming from the SEC.
