Wound up heading to teh Planes by myself today. Was able to hit 4 tailgates. Joe's briefly before and after. GH's for beer and good company before and after. One for a guy in our Sunday School class whose wife threw him a surprise tailgate/birthday party. She set it up right in the middle of some party-your-ass-off college kids. The birthday boy wound up playing the flip cup drinking game with them. There was much, many more drinking involved and many more much college co-ed dancing on tables. A freaking blast. Finished up with some fam before the game for bourbon and DCP.
The day was cold and overcast. Perfect football weather and atmosphere. Unbelievably, I only encountered one over the top, belligerent Dawg fan. Had two right behind me during the game and they were loud, but fun and great to talk to. The game obviously could not have gone any better. The best play calling I've ever seen under Malzahn. They left nothing to chance. Opened up the play book and used the infamous runs up the middle exactly the way they are supposed to in that offense. BTW, I have gay butt secks man-love for Ryan Davis. Most underrated player in the SEC, if not the country.
JHS was as loud as you could ever want it to be. They broke out the dark blue shakers. Great atmosphere. When the game was over, you wanted to stand there and take it all in. We just beat the #1 team in the nation. Talked shit with GH afterward. Talked mumbled shit with Joe after that. Long day. He was wasted. Oh....and GH alerted me...then Joe confirmed...the Bama tailgate will be epic. Joe Cribbs in da' house.
This is one I'll remember til I die. I kept looking around at the scene and thinking, "How could anyone experience this and not know that this is what college football is really all about?" No matter what happens the rest of the way, it's great to be an Auburn Tiger.
