I know nothing, Jon Snow
« on: October 01, 2017, 09:36:37 AM »
Every week it seems I know less and less about this game we call football.

LSU struggles with Syracuse and loses to Troy?  What. the. hell?  I cannot believe the Bayous can possibly be that bad.  When I watch them play I see players who look like they really don't want to be there.  Arden Key is a prime example of that.  The only time I saw LSU play with any urgency or intensity was over the last 4:00 of the game.  It was nearly enough.  The other side of that is Troy made enough mistakes to lose three games.  If they don't fumble inside the Bayou 15 late in the game, it's a 31-7 hole and a much greater humiliation. Honestly, it was much more like a 38-7 beating than it was a 24-21 loss.  Orgeron may have nailed his own coffin closed with his post-game statements.  "I didn't know we were going to do that.." and then throwing both players and assistants in front of the bus.

Ole Miss and MSU.  I don't think State is as bad as we (and UGA) made them look.  I don't think Ole Miss is as bad as Bama (and Cal) made them look.  Mullen is back to whining the "really young, lot of young players" excuse when all I heard in the offseason was how they had everybody back.  I saw where Mullen has the worst record in the history of college football against ranked teams.  He sucks. He's not a good coach.  All of you suggesting him as a replacement for anybody -- Sumlin, Orgeron, Bitch Jones, Beluga or Gus -- should be ashamed. I know that at least.

Tennessee. Butch is done. The Champions of Life aren't even champions of that. They should have lost to Ga. Tech. Should have lost to UMass. This is a team that, in reality, should be 1-4. Jon Gruden! Gary Patterson! Chip Kelley! Bear Bryant! Knute Rockne! Vince Lombardi! The list of next head coaches is long.  The Vols actually believe they have one of the top two or three coaching jobs in the nation.  I'm not convinced they have one of the top two or three coaching jobs in the state of Tennessee.  Which brings me to...

Georgia.  Are the Dogs that good or is it just a case of MSU and Tennessee being that bad.  I don't know anything so whatever I say is now worthless, but I think its a combination of both.  Georgia is good but those two teams are flopping.

Alabama.  I hate this team.

Florida, Vandy, Kentucky, Arkansas, South Carolina.... all a big pile of meh.  That big Beluga bitch was giddy over a win over New Mexico State Technical College.

I'm looking at the SEC overall and I don't know how many of these teams will (or should) even be bowl eligible.  Will Tennessee or LSU win a conference game?  Will Missouri? That this would even be a question at this point of the season is baffling.

And what about us?  People are scurrying to get back on the Gus Bus.  I'm not going to be that fickle.  I got off it and I'll stay off until I'm convinced. I feel better about where we are than I did two weeks ago, but a lot of that is because everybody else in the SEC except Bama (I hate them) looks pretty fragile. We're still not a complete team. There are things that don't make sense.  We don't spread the ball out enough in the backfied. Pettway is either injured or a head case (he looks terrible).  There's something off about the run game that needs to get fixed somehow.  Early in the game I saw Stidham make the same goofy ass flailing pants shitter that I've seen whenever he's under pressure.  That's got to change because there are teams left on the schedule that are going to pressure him.  I don't know anything. Don't know if we're good or not.

So, hot seat tracking if mostly stupid, but nonetheless fun.

SEC Hot Seat Rankings in real estate terms (because, why not?)

WEST
Maintains own bank (and rules, unfortunately)
Saban/Alabama

Safe but the bank still holds the loan
Malzahn/Auburn
Mullen/Miss. State (they know what they are)

Trying to build curb appeal in a crowded neighborhood
Orgeron/LSU
Sumlin/TAMU

Foreclose eminent
Bielema/Arkansas

Already foreclosed and vote by city looming to turn it into a parking lot
Interim Luke/Ole Miss

EAST
Safe but the bank still holds the loan
McElwain/Florida
Smart/Georgia
Muschamp/South Carolina

Trying to build curb appeal in a bad neighborhood
Mason/Vandy
Stoops/Kentucky

Foerclosure eminent
Jones/Tennessee
Odom/Missouri

Yeah that much too.

Conference is weak overall, as weak as I've seen it. We are still vulnerable to any on the schedule because of Malzahn.

Gus looked tortured last night like he was meddling with Chip while the guy was trying to call sequences of plays.
Has to want to kill him.

I think Yaw joins Luke. Once the city finds the funds to move forward with the parking lot project, he is gone.

What is scary is Suitcase Bobby ending up at TAMU or LSU.

Tennessee not so much being in the SEC East.

Chip Gruden and Jon Kelley are taking every available coaching opening.  Fact.

Nothing has changed other than the conference as a whole sucks...as does Malzahn. We are just cursed with a mediocre, meddling, coachspeak machine.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

But we are #12!
No argument because we have recruited so well. But watch his decisions against like talented teams though, ass cheeks drawn... against our biggest rivals Georgia and Alabama. It's him, not the team!
Tell me I'm wrong and why.

Hell Penn State has Franklin and he's as bad as Malzahn.
They just funnel talent.

Uga is a good team. Not great but very solid. And their d looks like ours - very tough and physical.

They actually made quite a few mistakes against Tennessee and still won by 40 at their house. It could have been worse.

Oh and fuck dan mullins. Never seen such a sore loser in my life. You'd have thought that cocksucker just lost a heart breaker by 3 points. Excuses excuses. Fuck him.

Don't care about Mullen but I think we can  score more if Malzahn just oversees, works the refs and just manages on the field stuff.
We have the makings for another run if we can keep our backfield healthy.

I'm not willing to give a free pass yet. 2nd half of Clemson broke my unyielding support of Gus. But there has been substantial improvements and this is a first year OC with a QB who has been on the shelf for a year.

Bound to be a learning curve.

If we continue to improve, I may retain him. We shall see.

Said it a dozen times before.  Done with Gus after Clemson last year.  Only way he survives is turning it all over to someone else. He didn't against Clemson again this year.  If he had, we'd be 5-0 and top 5.  But Gus screwed the pooch again. I'll ride it out as if I/we have any choice.  Hope we win them all. Have zero faith that Gus won't step in and fuck it all up.

It's coming.  Do you hear it coming?
