Every week it seems I know less and less about this game we call football.
LSU struggles with Syracuse and loses to Troy? What. the. hell? I cannot believe the Bayous can possibly be that bad. When I watch them play I see players who look like they really don't want to be there. Arden Key is a prime example of that. The only time I saw LSU play with any urgency or intensity was over the last 4:00 of the game. It was nearly enough. The other side of that is Troy made enough mistakes to lose three games. If they don't fumble inside the Bayou 15 late in the game, it's a 31-7 hole and a much greater humiliation. Honestly, it was much more like a 38-7 beating than it was a 24-21 loss. Orgeron may have nailed his own coffin closed with his post-game statements. "I didn't know we were going to do that.." and then throwing both players and assistants in front of the bus.
Ole Miss and MSU. I don't think State is as bad as we (and UGA) made them look. I don't think Ole Miss is as bad as Bama (and Cal) made them look. Mullen is back to whining the "really young, lot of young players" excuse when all I heard in the offseason was how they had everybody back. I saw where Mullen has the worst record in the history of college football against ranked teams. He sucks. He's not a good coach. All of you suggesting him as a replacement for anybody -- Sumlin, Orgeron, Bitch Jones, Beluga or Gus -- should be ashamed. I know that at least.
Tennessee. Butch is done. The Champions of Life aren't even champions of that. They should have lost to Ga. Tech. Should have lost to UMass. This is a team that, in reality, should be 1-4. Jon Gruden! Gary Patterson! Chip Kelley! Bear Bryant! Knute Rockne! Vince Lombardi! The list of next head coaches is long. The Vols actually believe they have one of the top two or three coaching jobs in the nation. I'm not convinced they have one of the top two or three coaching jobs in the state of Tennessee. Which brings me to...
Georgia. Are the Dogs that good or is it just a case of MSU and Tennessee being that bad. I don't know anything so whatever I say is now worthless, but I think its a combination of both. Georgia is good but those two teams are flopping.
Alabama. I hate this team.
Florida, Vandy, Kentucky, Arkansas, South Carolina.... all a big pile of meh. That big Beluga bitch was giddy over a win over New Mexico State Technical College.
I'm looking at the SEC overall and I don't know how many of these teams will (or should) even be bowl eligible. Will Tennessee or LSU win a conference game? Will Missouri? That this would even be a question at this point of the season is baffling.
And what about us? People are scurrying to get back on the Gus Bus. I'm not going to be that fickle. I got off it and I'll stay off until I'm convinced. I feel better about where we are than I did two weeks ago, but a lot of that is because everybody else in the SEC except Bama (I hate them) looks pretty fragile. We're still not a complete team. There are things that don't make sense. We don't spread the ball out enough in the backfied. Pettway is either injured or a head case (he looks terrible). There's something off about the run game that needs to get fixed somehow. Early in the game I saw Stidham make the same goofy ass flailing pants shitter that I've seen whenever he's under pressure. That's got to change because there are teams left on the schedule that are going to pressure him. I don't know anything. Don't know if we're good or not.
