No.  From what I've heard, it was the women's basketball program.  FBI said today that the NCAA was not aware of this investigation.

Unless he knew or was involved, it's not going to touch him. 

I could be massively wrong, but I don't think the NCAA is going to look as harshly at this as it does recruiting inducements.  It's going to sting for a while, but most of that sting will be in public perception -- not reality.  Part will depend on which players he allegedly, supposedly "steered" and whether they can prove that he actually gave money to the mom (as opposed to lying about it and keeping it himself).

Some named will be used as bait for bigger fish. It's a federal issue not really an NCAA problem right now...but an Auburn problem regardless and not something to be self reported to ease the outcome.

I've watched two different reports about this.  Each one used similar phrasing and said Person accepted brobes to steer athletes to agents "after the players went to the NBA..." 

If it's after they declared?  And given that this thing is going to be huge.  And given that as basketball programs go, we're not that big a fish....

It could be less than nuclear.  They'd have to show that Auburn gained a competitive advantage.  Person goes.  A player or two is declared ineligible. We get a year of probation maybe and a stern lecture from that fraud Mark Emmert.  Pearl can escape.  Jacobs?  I don't know.  If it were just this, maybe.  But it's not. 

Louisville is roadkill, though.

As long as Pearl didn't know, I think he's good.

If this were the only scandal under Jacobs, I think he would be safe. And I get that he most likely didn't know, but we seem incapable of going 2-3 years without some sort of scandal coming from then athletic department.  I just don't see how he keeps his job.

I think tomorrow, Louisville cleans house and the AD and Pitino will be the first to get fired because of this.

I'm going to admit, this whole thing has been a whole lot of meh to me.  Take the chick softball scandal for instance.  The truth is that I didn't give 2 fickity fucks about the program until the best player in the game just happened to be from here and a girl my wife taught in school.  Otherwise...Pffffffffffttttt!!!!  It's chick softball.  It's horrible!

I'm not that far off with AU basketball. You guys know I've been very open about the fact that I think Bruce Pearl has grossly underperformed.  Basketball is different.  3-4 great recruits and you can turn a program around instantly and put them on the map.  Has he recruited great?  On paper, yes.  But so far, the results have been shit!  With the exception of the occasional couple of good years here and there, AU basketball has been the cellar dweller of the weakest Power 5 conference for literally decades.  Dating waaaaayyy back.  The news that this program might be in big trouble.....meh...wake me when it's over.
