Saturday Foosball
« on: September 23, 2017, 01:07:00 PM »
The 6 pound Boston Butt is 4 hours on the Green Egg, low and slow.  One IPA in.

So, we wallowed around against Mercer last Saturday.  Tennessee fans may have that same sinking feeling.  Just scored their first TD to go up 7-0 with 4:00 minutes left in the first half.  It's UMass.  0-4 UMass.  Widely regarded as the worst team in D1.

Check that.  UMass just scored.  7-6

Flipping channels and stopped briefly to try and figure out why Texas A&M was playing Ohio State.  What the holy fruckity fruck are you doing Arkansas? Must be working though.  Up 21-10.  Somebody gone get Les Miles'd.

UT hangs on to beat mighty UMass at home 17-13.

NC State takes care of FSU 28-21 in Doak Campbell

Neither Arky or A&M have ever heard of the word, "Defense".  Horrible.  And Fat Bert is wearing an old gray sweatshirt, looking like he's getting ready to swill a 12-pack and slam wings and fries.

Toledo beating The U 16-10 in the 2nd half.

TCU up by 10 on I'm 40, I'm a man.

Clemson and BC tied 7-7 in the 2nd half.

We finally look this week how we should have looked last week.
Mizzou's defense SUCKS!

Stidham still shits the bed at the slightest inkling of pressure!

Didn't see that at all tonight.  Only problem with JS is that he needs to get his ass on the ground sooner and don't take so much punishment.  BTW, in the last two games:

45-54  582 Yards 1 TD 1INT (Not his fault)

I can live with what Stidham is doing right now.

It only happened a few of times in the first quarter.  (That was the only time they got pressure).
He immediately dropped his head and started crawling out. Never once looked downfield for an outlet. Same stuff he's done all season.
He is not getting any better at it.
And if you think we are going to give him time to throw like he got tonight, well, I think we all know that Ain't happening!

We played a shitty defense tonight. We won't be that lucky with any other SEC team.

If he can't keep his eyes downfield and get a few of those dumped off, we will look like we did against Clemson.
Our season truly rests on how he handles pressure.

2.7 ypc against a shitty defense.

Would a combo of Kmart and Miller have been as effective?

I'll defer to your judgment since you've been there, done that.  The average Joe fan in me sees a guy who has only thrown 9 incompletions in 2 games.  I saw a QB that was far more decisive than anytime to date.  Granted, I'd rather see him throw it away than bust his ass for a first down, but I thought he made cleaner, quicker decisions tonight.

My only real gripe tonight was the few times we went full Malzahn Tard and continued to hand the ball off up the middle incessantly.  But to their credit, they got away from that and did some pretty innovative stuff offensively.  Got Kam and Malik involved heavily in the running game.

I'm not even bitching about the lack of TD passes. LOL. I saw where somebody mentioned that. They hit SW hard with that one. I don't give a rats ass about that as long as we get down there and score.

As for his performance, don't get me wrong, you give the kid time, he will eat you alive.
And my only knock on him is the lack of performance under pressure.
I was hoping a coach would work on him keeping his head up and not panicking.(do we have a QB coach?)

He looked great tonight, unless under pressure. If he learns to keep his head up and dump a few of those off, we will break some defenses.

He throws about the best ball I have seen in a long time.

I wonder if the WRs got open because he had a lot of time to throw, or they are getting better, or if the defense was just shitty. Regardless it was damn nice to see open WRs for a change!

The best thing I saw tonight was this older gentleman, maybe mid-60s, about 4 or 5 rows in front of us. When we scored early in the 3rd, he stood up, reached into his pocket, pulled out a white handkerchief, waved it over his head, and then left.

Was happy that we spread it around much more, utilizing the backs to their strengths. That was a positive step. Realize Missou is weak right now but still it was on the road and we weren't as sloppy.
