We're a seven-point underdog at Clemson.  I don't think that's unfair.   I had this game marked as a win for us from the start, but I've changed my mind on that.  I hate Dabo Swinney.  He looks like a turtle having an orgasm from anal sex.   I expected them to struggle a little in the absence of Watson and Williams.   I expected our offense to have more sizz. Neither of those proved true.  Thus, I haven't given up hope, but I no longer consider this an automatic.

Why exactly? Yes, Auburn did not look that great against Ga Southern but what did Clemson do?  They played an outmatched Kent State team that has come out and said they weren't trying. The last two years, Clemson's game plan has been try not to screw up, and if they did, get Watson to throw a back shoulder ball to Williams. It was unstoppable.  That's how they beat us last year.  Until they prove they have that kind of bail out, I don't see how you can write this game off as a loss. If we can make a few first downs, I see the defense holding up all night. We will just have to keep the ball from them and party they don't have that third down safety valve.

Honestly, I expect to see a completely different offense on Saturday night with a fresh and healthy Pettway and hopefully Kyle Davis in the lineup.  The only thing that scares me is that quarterback taking off on most pass plays...could be a long night if we don't have a capable spy on him.

Honestly, I expect to see a completely different offense on Saturday night with a fresh and healthy Pettway and hopefully Kyle Davis in the lineup.  The only thing that scares me is that quarterback taking off on most pass plays...could be a long night if we don't have a capable spy on him.

Auburn’s offense will be different



Offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey admitted the Tigers implemented six or seven new things against Georgia Southern in the season opener, which is technically a low amount of plays for a new coordinator introducing his own flavor to Gus Malzahn’s hurry-up, no-huddle offense.

Simply put, Auburn will implement and run more new plays and schemes than what you saw in the opener against Georgia Southern. These are plays Clemson may not have prepared for heading into this game, which gives Auburn an advantage on paper and on film (the coaches’ film study). Still, Auburn has to execute these plays and Jarrett Stidham has to improve after holding on to the ball too long at times against the Eagles last week.

Overall we’re expecting new looks, an expanded playbook and more deep shots down the field. So, stack that box, Clemson. Auburn is going to go over the top.
