So, I was a senior at Jeff Davis when Van Halen released their first album.  Incredible, ground breaking stuff that went against the flow at that time. The Bee Gee's and Disco were starting their short lived run but here was a Cali band doing shit no one had ever even dreamed of.  Many an aspiring guitarist tried to emulate what Eddie VH was doing and David Lee Roth was the quintessential front man, sporting the 80's hair band look and putting on acrobatic shows.  But......unfortunately, I came across this tonight. Yeah, I'm getting old.

2 - that clip framed perfectly why I was so disappointed seeing them live summer before last. 
- Roth's deranged Joker grimace
- Roth's seriously eroded (non-existent) vocal skills.  He just talks through the lyrics
- Roth's "hit by a taser" herky jerkyisms
- Wolfabeetus. Nobody wants to see him.

Eddie can still play a little.  Drums were good. But that's a shadow of what it once was.

The two VH brothers and Wolfgang are fine.  They're playing music.  David Lee Roth in dress pants, a vest and balding, brown hair, trying to kick and dance around at 164 years old...

Good point. While I liked the original DLR stuff, he just cannot sing any more. He was on the verge of sounding terrible when he was at his best. Now its just sad.

And now he has resorted to that gay ass dancing on that gay ass show. Its all a downhill mudslide from here!
