NFL Draft.
« on: April 27, 2017, 09:36:00 PM »
Some interesting picks so far (14).
Bamturds getting shunned so far.

Watson to the Texans might be the real game changer so far.
I'm not sure Mahomes will be who they think he is.

Maybe there will be some good defensive players left when the Falcons finally pick!

I can't believe I'm saying this but, I miss Chris Berman.  Tray Wingo is fucking awful.  Pathetic.  Any down time where they have to fill space, which happens the overwhelming amount of time between picks in the draft....he's lost. I...ummm...soooo....umm...what do you think the Packers will do?  He's had several of possibly the worst "analogies" I've ever heard.  "He was a surfer so...he's going to try and SURF his way to the quarterback."  We're broadcasting live from the art museum so the Jaguars are looking to make an ARTISTIC pick".

Bears picking Mitchell Triscuitbiskit 2nd?  Holy shit!  How stupid are you?  13 games played.  8-5 record.  His film looks awful.  I would have taken Watson over any of these schleps.  Other than him, there's not a 3rd round QB among the bunch.  Terrible QB draft but everyone is enamored with getting the next great quarterback.

Meh. Not sure about the Falcons' pick. The ATL is a tough place to be loose lipped. I hope that passion translates to the field!

Panthers take McCaffery in the 1st.

I like the kid and think he can be a star, but the need seemed to be OL.

Congrats to the Jags in getting Fournette.

Poor Jabril Peppers...slip down to the mid-first and think you're safe, then BAM...the Browns getcha.

Also...Patrick Mahomes' agent better get triple commission for jockeying that putz into top half of the first round.

I love the McCaffery pick.  I was saying earlier that the Panthers need a dynamic playmaker that can run it and catch out of the backfield instead of that plodding, grind it out running game they've lived on.  But yes, they absolutely better be addressing the line.

4-Net is a beast.  Freaky big and fast. Tom Coughlin's style of back.

Outside of Deshaun Watson, who has his own drawbacks, what is the attraction to any of these QB's?  They may pan out and all wind up HOF'rs but I didn't see one I'd take before round 3.

Werd.

The next NFL draft I manage for a team will be my first, but the ridiculousness of forcing a QB prospect into the role of "NEXT BIG THING" is ruining a few franchises.  Rank 'em by ability, cross reference with need and draft.

Stick with me, kid.  I'm a great evaluator of talent.  This is going to be Jeremy Johnson's break out year.

I think teams reached too early with the QBs and the RB's but what do I know.

I hope I'm wrong cause Panthers are my second favorite team but I have a feeling McCaffery might be a bust.

(EDIT) Let me caveat by saying bust in terms of draft position.  To me he is a late 2nd-3rd round type pick, not at 8.

Not sure how I missed it, but I didn't realize this was Ed McCaffery of the Broncos, son. He comes with great stock because Ed was a stud.

I don't think he will be a bust. McCaffery should be able to play for 10 years kind of like Sproles. He is a game changer and can do a lot of different things. His body is not going to break down like say Fournette who is a big bruiser.

That's what's blowing me away. I've seen 83 DE's already taken, some from Youngstown State and Florida InterAtlantical.  Are they that concerned about his injuries?  If so, then why was John Ross taken top 10? He's a walking M.A.S.H. unit.  I don't get it.  I know I may be sounding like an AU homer but there's no way in hell that many DE's can go ahead of Lawson.  I have a feeling that mofo is going to make people pay.

Agreed.  McCaff is made of rock and steel.  He's of the same sledgehammer quality as Olsen.

If they'd drafted that piece of illiterate shit Reuben Foster or the overhyped and worthless OJ Howard I would have been pissed.

I don't think Lawson could have improved his stock much unless he had a dominating year next season. Short arm measurements, a lot of film showing him not finishing plays (not based on laziness either), and a bad history of injuries.

I would be surprised if he slips past the 4th. He certainly can rush the passer just as well as Dee Ford who went in the 1st round a few years ago.

I'm more surprised by Adams going so late. Some had him as a 1st round talent going into the draft and he slipped to the mid third? Green Bay got a steal.

ESPN's handling of the Joe Mixon pick was nothing short of deplorable.  We got it, World Wide Leader.  We know you're a champion of the cause.  If you didn't tell us that breaking a woman's face was wrong, how would we ever know?  What a pre-rehearsed, sack of pig shit.
