And how did the JF3 to WR experiment look?
He's no Will Hastings, I'll tell you that.

I haven't been feeling great in several weeks since I had a surgery go wrong.  But watching this A day makes me feel tingly. Stidham and Craig-Meyers make me happy. Malik Willis is promising 👍

I need to watch again to check out the D but so far Chip Lindsay gets my approval. Great offensive performance.

It doesn't take a brain surgeon....oh sorry.  It's pretty clear that we have a QB and a ton of receivers that will light up the Jacobtron Super XE 4,000 FanCamBoard.  The first team D didn't allow squat all day.  Very fast, very big, very salty.

This year could be very interesting.

I watched the thing on TV at 4:30 this morning.

My observations:

1) Kerryon Johnson and Sean White are made of spun sugar.  Breathe on them and they break.  I felt bad for Johnson because he was having a great day.

2) Hard to tell what the defense is going to do because they were so limited.

3) At least our defense didn't cause the game to be stopped and generate the first ejection for targeting in the history of spring games.  Looking at you, Mississippi State. How stupid can you possibly be.

4) Crowd was fair.  I'm sure we'll be roundly ridiculed for only having 45,000 or so in attendance.  It's a spring game, not a test of loyalty.

5) For the first time that I can remember we have a quarterback that actually LOOKS like a quarterback.  He's got fluidity, his release is quarterbacky, his trajectory is right, his footwork is spot on and I even saw him check down a few times. I saw him throw with touch and on a line. I saw him lay balls over the defense and thread needles.  I like Sean White, I really do. I hate it for him, but Stidham has the look and feel of an honest to goodness legit quarterback.  I tried to think back to a time when we had a QB who had a full bag of tools and the same kind of polish Stidham does.  I couldn't find one in my memory banks.  For as long as I can remember we've either had a kid playing his guts out and above his head (White, Brandon Cox, Ben Leard, Randy Campbell, Chris Tood, Daniel Cobb), somebody with insane talent that made things work (Cam, Nick Marshall, Dameyune) or we've had a clusterfuck (Fraztrotersly, Kodi).  The closest I guess we've come to having a "quarterback quarterback" is either Jason Campbell or Jeff Burger unless you dip all the way back to Sullivan.  I know I've only seen a half, and a spring game half at that,  but Stidham aced the eye test. He looks in command and in control.

I finally watched the game as well.

I'll echo all the praise being heaped on Stidham.  I'm not terribly sure I wouldn't go ahead and make Malik Willis my #2B option.  The QBs actually look like they've been getting some coaching...or maybe it's just that the two kids on campus the least amount of time are showing their lack of un-development with Gus.

The receivers are getting a chance to make plays and we're seeing the results of that last WR haul.  NCM, Slayton and Davis (presuming he gets back) are the deep threats we need to keep the middle of the field open.  Throw in Stove for the jet sweep and McClain as the wildcard and we've got hands all over the field.  The check down to that late drag pattern where Hastings makes his living will be deadly if the OLine can provide the protection.

RBs will be fine with the depth we have, but goddamnit we need Kerryon to toughen up a bit...and Kam Martin to learn to hold onto the ball.

There was even action to the TEs...what a novel concept.

Can't tell much about the defense, but we have size, speed and numbers.

There is zero excuse for failing to win 9 in the regular season.  The schedule is tough, but it's not much tougher than any other odd-year SEC schedule.  We get Clemson without most of their weapons and could get a resume-building win in the Palmetto State early in the season.

I'll admit that Kerryon has weak ankles, but that was going to happen to anyone that got tackled and had his ankle rolled up on like that.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."
