Braves are tied 1-1 in the 10th with the Mets.

ONE freakin' run in 19 innings of play to start the season. Now, facing Noah Soundgarden and Jacob DeGrom to start it doesn't help. But.....Come on, man!

Well, the Bravos pick up win #1 with a 3-1 win in 12 on the road vs. the Mets. Happy to break the ice and get one in the W column. (1-1) Not too worried about wins and losses right now because they're not going to contend. Not strong enough. But they have a really good line up and I just want to see all their young guys getting better so there's some hope for the future. Could be a fun bunch to watch this year.

Of course, they're not the cheating Cards or over the top spending Cubs. But they could win a few games.

Speaking of spending... do you know which position player on the Cubs is paid the most?

So Cubs are going to be interesting in the net few years with payroll. This is Arietta's last year. Do you let him walk? He's going to command 20-25M/year (and in my mind, the best pitcher in baseball). But they have so much already tied up with Lester. And when Kobe Bryant/Rizzou/Schwarber hit FA, they aren't going to take a hometown discount. Buzz, any thoughts? And that JHey contract is going to be an Albert-tross around their neck for the next 5 years.

1-6. 380 pound, 63 year old Bartolo Colon serving up 86 m.p.h. "heaters". I didn't expect a ton this year. Competitive hopefully. And I wasn't thrilled with 9 straight on the road to start. But 1-6? Frick! And Matt Kemp just went on the 10 Day DL.

4-5 for the Rangers with 3 blown saves in last 2 innings. Our closer gave up 3 runs on Tuesday in the ninth and his ERA went DOWN to 33.

But all in all I am not worried, assuming Dyson gets his head out of his ass.

Haven't seen it yet. I'm going to let Atlanta get at least 10 games out before I venture over. Should be in a couple of weeks. On an ATL note, Snagette and another lady are on their way over this morning with my boy and two of his friends. Mini Snags took up the bass last year and his two buddies are pretty dang skippy guitar players. Part of his Christmas present was tickets to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers tonight. They all love the Peppers. He gets to see his hero live, playing bass.
