Mazzone just finished his first season at Texas A&M. The Aggies were 24th in the country in total offense (467.0 yards per game) and 34th in scoring offense (34.8 points per game) in 2016 under Mazzone.

I get this weirdo feeling that Mazzone will be back in Auburn as OC very soon.

This job is worth 1.5M+ if done right with the talent we have. Top ten offense maybe.  Why must we settle?

This search is turning into a fucking rescue mission.
Need to reaccess what this hire can mean for the entire season, your future and everyone involved. OR NOT!

Totally agree, especially considering that we would have to pony up 1.2M to hire him.  I just assume promote Hand to OC, hire Jumbo, Prowler, or Snags to coach the OL, and save the money to potentially buy out a coach contract next year.

I'll do it for $500K.  I know it's a pay cut but damn, I love Auburn.

At this point, Hand may be the most logical choice.  He's done it before with Malzahn and something tells me that whoever he hires is going to be made to run Gus' offense anyway. Can you really see CGM hiring anyone and saying, "Here, do your thing.  I'll just do my CEO thing."

For right now, we most likely have a Coach that will be fired somewhere from Mid-season to end of season. We have an Athletic Director who no else in the country would even interview for any position in their Athletic Dept.
