Unless we aren't
Well then there's that. A little breakdown of the teams statistically.
Oklahoma is one of the top scoring teams in the nation putting up almost 47 points per game. Baker Mayfield has thrown for a shit ton of yards with 38 TD's and 8 INT's. They also have a 1,000 yard rusher in Joe Mixon and another back with a little over 900. Sandwich Praline or some shit. However:
Defensively, they're as sucky as their offense is not sucky. They're 87th in overall D, giving up 30 points per game.
Auburn, on the other hand, puts up 450 yards and 32 points per game. But on D, despite giving up 30 to the Tahd, they still rank 20th in overall defense, giving up 348 yards and 15.6 points per game.
I'm not saying this to sugarcoat it or slap on a coat of orange and blue Sherwin-Williams. But it can't be pointed out enough that our offensive stats against at least 3 of our opponents were greatly affected by injuries and coaching full-tardedness. Clemson and Georgia fo 100% sho. I'm not claiming we would have beaten Bama, but Sean, Kamryn and Stanton at full speed would have made that a hell of a lot more competitive. If we're at full skrength for OU, the only wild card is whether or not Malzahn believes he can beat them running his offense. If he doesn't, we'll get more whirlybird, Notre Dame Box bullshit and lose by 20+.
