Auburn
- We learned that there is certainly no quarterback controversy. White is the most crucial part of the offense, and he needs to get healthy soon.
- White has longevity issues. Couldn't make it through all of 2015 and now has trouble making it through 2016. Two more years left for him to be our starter.
- Pettway getting injured while sprinting to the end zone felt like the football gods were cursing us. Rumors are he's day to day, but that's what we always hear from Gus. I fully expect to be without Pettway next week against Georgia.
- The defense is regressing. Has bad issues in pass defense.
- I still really like our chances next week. I would be disappointed if we don't win by at least 14 points.
Alabama-LSU
- No, that's not big boy football. That's not "how it should be played." Classic defenses they were not. That was a shitty football game, and Alabama did what they always do: wear down their opponent until they can close the game. I wouldn't rate this game much higher than the 3-2 Auburn-Miss State game of 2008. Really shitty play calling. God awful play from the quarterbacks. Lots of mistakes. If the stakes weren't so high, it would have been horribly boring and I would have switched it.
- If a team has FOUR players commit penalties and the other team has one, then those penalties should not offset. That is absolutely ridiculous. If you didn't see, there was a bit of a sideline scuffle and Bama had three or four players called for unsportsmanlike conduct. One of them was a blatant late hit on a defenseless player and considering it was at the start of a damn near brawl, he could have been ejected. But to call that offsetting? LSU can't defend themselves from a bunch of crimson assholes starting shit on their sideline?
- That was a major call because if they weren't offsetting and if they didn't call it against LSU as well, that could have been 45 yards for LSU's offense and put them in field goal range in a 0-0 game. Even if they only counted one of Alabama's many unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, that would have still put them in field goal range.
- Alabama's defense is tiresome. I got so sick of it that I quit caring. Then I couldn't care any less about them that I started getting sick again. They just suffocate the opposing team until they win. Their offense is awful. They don't have shit. A QB that can scamper but in a normal, non-steroid-filled game, Alabama probably loses. You shouldn't be allowed to get away with playing that bad on offense and still win convincingly almost every single week.
Heisman
- Gotta be Lamar Jackson's right? 3 games with 7+ touchdowns? Alabama likes tossing Hurts in the mix every now and then. Jackson has more touchdowns in 3 games than Hurts does all year.
DSOR
- Bad time to get the injury bug. This is a humongous game. We're 2-8 against Georgia over the last decade. That is completely unacceptable. We have the chance to beat the shit out of them, and I'm worried we're going to struggle. Maybe even lose if Eason gets a hot hand.
- If we beat Georgia, the Iron Bowl decides the West. How fun would that be?
Washington
- So I'm watching this late night football game...
- You ever look at some of these Pac 12 or Mountain West teams and just know that based on how they look, their body builds, the way they carry themselves on the field - you just know that they suck? That can't actually hang with a good SEC team?
- Washington looks that way. Super frumpy offensive linemen wearing those old school neck pads to make themselves look bigger. Roly poly defensive linemen, short armed and too much curly hair.
- They have a good receiver. That's for sure. One of their defensive lineman is a monster. The rest though look like scrub team guys. I don't blame the committee for leaving them out of the top four, and I think they'll be embarrassed if they do get in.
