Skewed by Lester Holt to bolster Hillary.  She looked like a condescending bitch.  He looked like he was barely holding in his disdain for her.

Nobody won, but if you HAVE to declare a winner?  Much as I hate to say it, probably her.

He had an easy opening when she talked about her great knowledge of cyber security.  Didn't just look at her and giggle then ask about her emails.

I don't like her at all.

One thing I caught in the revealing of tax returns...

Trump stated that Clinton has squandered tax dollars, etc, etc.

Clinton responded with, "maybe because you haven’t paid any federal income tax in a lot of years."

Trump immediately says, “It would be squandered too, believe me.”

There's a word there that caught my attention and should catch everyone else's..."WOULD" as in he hasn't paid what he owes the government.

You are obsessed with people not giving you enough money.  Don't you realize that neither Bernie nor Hillary would give YOU one red cent of the money they'd love to bleed from American businesses?  It would all go to them because they're 'dead broke.'  Can't live on a couple million a year and never actually working.  It's a tough life.  You should give more of your money so they don't have to earn any.

You're so easily duped it's scary.

You are so blinded by your hatred towards Hillary to realize that Trump and however many Billions that he says that he's worth HAS NOT PAID THE GOVERNMENT WHAT HE OWES. He's not the only one, I'm sure Hillary hasn't paid either, but she's not blabbing about how rich she is and how she uses the loopholes to get away with not paying what she owes...like the rest of America that aren't among the 1%. Also, she didn't insinuate on National TV that she hasn't paid what she owes, unlike Trump.
So, you can take the "free handout" shit and shove it back up your ass. IMO, if you want to live here you should have to pay what you owe in taxes, just like everyone else.

Really?

Just what does he "owe?"   Whatever you say he does?  What his accountants determine he does?

Right now, if I didn't pay expensive accountants to help me find and exploit every advantage, my tax rate because I own my own business would be over 30%.  One third of the money I work hard to make goes to greedy pigs like Hillary and Obama who have never spent a single day of their lives doing anything of substantive value.

And people like you think we should pay more?

Why?  So people who pay no taxes can get money back thanks to "earned income credits" and other government dole outs?

Well fuck you, buster.

If I could figure out a way to legally reduce my taxes to zero?  I'd damn sure do it.   I don't mind paying, but it should be equal.  I shouldn't pay substantially more because I have the initiative to be successful.  And I shouldn't get more because I have no initiative and make less.

Oddly enough every poll other than CNN that I can find shows Trump winning the debate by a 60-40 margin.

Is this an indicator that Trump supporters are more enthusiastic and willing to vote in polls -- a trait that will carry over to actual polling?

Is this an indicator that there are more Trump supporters than the media imagines when given the opportunity to express themselves anonymously -- like at the actual polls?

Is this an indicator that Trump actually scored points among the undecided?

I wish he had taken a swipe at all of the low-hanging fruit that was out there and that she opened herself up for.  Looked to me like he was struggling not to be seen as being mean to a woman (which she isn't).  I hope he watches this film, learns from it, and eviscerates the bitch the next time out.

No.  I disagree there.  He was blatantly schilling for Whorelary.  How many follow ups did he ask her?

Why were the topics "birther controversy" (which isn't even a real thing) instead of benghazi; "were you for the war 20 years ago?" instead of immunity for your conspirators?

It was absolute bullshit and based almost entirely on HER talking points.  Fuck Lester Holt.

So topics like "birther" and "what did you say about the war 20 years ago on Howard Stern" are okay, as is not mentioning any of the many albatrosses she carries around? Got it.

I use as many loopholes as I can find. People who do not pay "what they owe" usually end up in jail. Ask Mr. Snipes.

Trump knows the system is dung. He wants to simplify it. The millions he saves on accountants will be worth it! But I guess that is just the government creating more jobs....

Most of the post-debate polls are online polls.

It's why you deflect and keep hammering on issues and failures of your opponent. His pride got the better of him on the tax and birther issues. Newt did a perfect job of this in 2012 when the first question was about his divorce. He slammed the moderator and it was mentioned no more. He won the night by telling the mods it was out of line and to fuck off. I was shocked when trump didn't do the same.

Also a YUGGGGE mistake agreeing with her on guns and the no fly list. I bet the Nra lost their shit on that one.

Good commentary from Matt Walsh:

Quote
About tonight's horrific spectacle:

For the first 30 minutes, Trump was great. In fact I was legitimately impressed. He put Hillary on the defensive and she responded by cackling and stammering and flashing an evil grin like Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Hillary is absolutely awful when you take her off her script. She knows how to do what she practiced, but she doesn't know how to respond like a regular human person when she's backed into a corner.

Unfortunately, the debate was not 30 minutes. It was 90 minutes. And those last 60 were a disaster for Trump. Period. And if you want him to win, you need to criticize him now and stop pretending everything he touches is gold. Or he will lose. Badly. That's the situation. Time to deal with it.

Trump let Hillary get away with virtually every lie she told. She shrugged off her email scandal by calling it a mistake and Trump did not follow up. Later she spoke about the need for cyber security and Trump didn't even bother bringing up that Clinton kept an unsecure server in her freaking bathroom.

Trump was put on the defensive on a number of issues and he didn't handle the situation well. He rambled and babbled and allowed the discussion to stay on his own scandals and controversies rather than pivoting to Hillary.

Hillary blatantly called Trump a racist -- THREE TIMES -- and Trump had no retort, except to tell some strange story about how he hired some minorities once or something and it made him feel good. I don't know. I couldn't follow.

The subject turned to policing and racial issues and Trump never brought up the fact that Hillary has pandered to the mob and endangered police lives. Hillary also put the mother of an attempted cop killer on stage at her convention, but of course Trump made no mention of that.

Trump basically allowed Hillary to get away with everything, and only tried to hold her feet to the fire at the end for producing "not nice" ads about him. That's what he got her on. Not Benghazi, not the emails, not speaking fees or anything else. Only that she was "not nice" in some ads.

He did briefly bring up the DNC's railroading of Bernie Sanders but then stepped on his own point by transitioning that into a conversation about how his son likes to play computer games.

I will give him credit for one good line. When Hillary attacked Trump for stiffing some contractors who worked on one of his hotels, Trump shot back: "Yeah well Ambassador Stevens was your employee and he's dead now."

Just kidding. Trump didn't say that. He just rambled for another 12 minutes while Hillary silently gave praise to Satan.

It was unbearable to witness, especially because I could see the glee seeping out of Clinton's face. She can't believe her luck. She's a corrupt, lying, half-humanoid crook with a lifetime of scandal to her name, and the Republican nominee had little interest in talking about any of that tonight. Instead he spent 60 minutes defending his casinos and explaining why he should be given credit for making Obama release his birth certificate.

Again: If you want Trump to win, you need to be honest about this. Because if he continues with this strategy -- if you can call it that -- he will be crushed in November.

As for me, I don't know if I can even watch the next debate. I can't physically stomach watching Hillary win. Nobody deserves to lose more than her. But not everyone gets what they deserve in life. And Hillary couldn't be happier about that.

Final debate grades:

Hillary: F

Trump: F

Primary voters: F

America: Doomed

My bourbon bottle: empty

Apocalypse: can't come soon enough

When Hillary nailed Trump for saying he believed climate change was a hoax perpetuated by the Chinese, he blurted "I NEVER SAID THAT" several times.

He said it right here:
https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/265895292191248385

The media will rightfully pummel him for that. But what about Hillary's similar lies about positions one of them held in the past?

Trump nailed her for lauding the TPP as "the gold standard for trade deals". She said she never said that at all, and never really supported it, only that she was hopeful it would work out.
Quote
"So it's fair to say that our economies are entwined, and we need to keep upping our game both bilaterally and with partners across the region through agreements like the Trans-Pacific Partnership or TPP. Australia is a critical partner. This TPP sets the gold standard in trade agreements to open free, transparent, fair trade, the kind of environment that has the rule of law and a level playing field. And when negotiated, this agreement will cover 40 percent of the world's total trade and build in strong protections for workers and the environment."

Trump told the truth. She lied. Also Trump's retort after she said she was for it until it got fouled up along the way by saying "Who messed it up, Obama?" was a point for him as well.

She brought up that he was in favor of the Iraq war. First of all, it's astounding to me that this bitch who was a sitting Senator and put her actual vote in to go to war has any ground to criticize a then-TV personality for hesitantly saying "I guess...so" before criticizing the invasion.

Regardless, "unbiased" politifact and the mainstream media will pile on Trump for "lying" that he didn't supported the war, while she's permitted to act like she, an actual person in a position of power to directly facilitate the invasion, was always against it from the beginning. That's bullshit.

Also, here he a couple months later expounding on it to Fox News. He clearly opposed it early.

Clinton said Trump invited Putin to hack Americans. First of all, he "invited" him to hack her and her specifically, not all Americans. As often as "Heeyyyy he was joking!!" is misappropriated to some awful shit Trump says, this is not one of them. He was asked if he thought Putin was behind the DNC leak and he joked that if he was, hopefully he'll go after Hillary's emails next. Politifact scores that one to Clinton too. I disagree.

She said "The only years that anybody's ever seen" of Trump’s tax returns "showed he didn't pay any federal income tax." That is false. In the five years of taxes she's referring to, three of them showed he did pay federal income tax, and the other two years, he didn't because in accordance with tax rules, he lost millions of dollars those years. He did what is legal and prudent those years.

She brought up birtherism. He mentioned that she started it. Politifact gives that one a flat-out false rating. It is established fact that it started in 2008 with Sidney Blumenthal on Hillary's behalf before Trump was ever a political figure at all. Yes, Trump made a meal out of it and blew it way the fuck out of proportion, but HER CAMPAIGN factually, started it despite what politifact or the liberal media want to pretend now.

It's amazing to me that the media is trying to memoryhole this now.

Politico admitted as much before they now deny it.
http://www.politico.com/story/2011/04/birtherism-where-it-all-began-053563

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/barackobama/8478044/Birther-row-began-with-Hillary-Clinton-supporters.html

The media is twisting themselves in knots to revise history on this. It's astounding. Again, yes Trump made it a way bigger deal, but it's asinine to pretend this didn't originate in the 2008 primaries when it clearly did.

I also thought Trump's early statements on fiscal responsibility, government waste, and the crumbling infrastructure we have to show for it rang true for me. I thought he was "just tough enough" throughout most of the debate without venturing into "poo-poo pants" level insults. I think overall he did marginally better than I expected.

I think he is setting her up. he knows if he came out both barrels blasting it would turn off some of the undecideds. Sure, it would fire me up, but he already has my vote.

He is pretty good at this. i think he will give the right stuff at the right time. Do it all now ans you have nothing left, and it gives her time to use the media to make excuses. attack her just before the election, it sticks in the mind longer.

But we will see.

The first half hour I thought he hit a home run.

The last hour? Nose dive. He took the bait and ran with it like a hungry fish.

That's because the last hour was spent talking about stupid shit like birtherism and fat chicks.  She is not going to be able to win simply by talking about how bad he is.  She is going to have to come up with something positive she stands for
