TV show on TNT. I know that entertainment is supposed to go in another building, but the storyline of this show is so intricately tied to what's been going on lately that it deserves to be mentioned here.
Watched the first three episodes today of the third season. The most recent aired July 10.
Among the intertwined stories that make up the show is one about a cop who killed a black kid. Black Lives matter protests. In the usual TV deux ex machina manner he's exonerated and re-instated when the kid's gun is found and turned in by a citizen with a conscience.
But I was struck by his comments during the news conference that announced his reinstatement. He expressed condolences to the family of the guy he killed. But he said the guy was prepared to kill him that day. He asked how many vigils and protests would have been staged if he had been the one who'd been killed during the exchange.
I thought that was a perfect way to look at it.
