Does Gus need a dual threat Quarterback to win in the SEC?
« on: June 08, 2016, 11:18:22 AM »
There's been a lot of talk and will continue to be a lot of talk about which QB(s) Gus and Rhett will use in 2016. I fall in the camp that says our best bet is a true dual threat guy who can work the edges which opens up the power middle run game and sets up the play action pass game. Agree or disagree and comment with who you think gives us the best option in 2016.

I voted Ham Sammich.

Ideally, the dual threat QB seems to be what makes his offense go. Doesn't necessarily have to be a dual threat guy.  He's proven that many times in the past but I think the offense is best suited for a drool threat.  I've been very skeptical of Clifford Franklin and will continue to be until he proves me wrong.  I don't think the guy is big enough to take SEC West impacts and all reports are that his arm sucks.  Strong but suck.

I vote yes but need is the key word. He at least needs a mobile qb if not a dual threat imo. He could win with Tom Brady though, so it's not impossible without one. Just easier in what Gus has run so far.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

JJ is dual threat, he can't throw (to our guys) and he won't run.

I think Jacobs used up his eligibility in the 80's.

Absolutely.  I didn't have to give them up until around 2009.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
