I grew up thinking he was some redneck southern icon. Then I found out the mfer is from Ohio, has a strange Midwestern accent and wears weird Indian shit. I was like huh? Other states have them too? Who knew. Some of his shit was ok. But most were just trashy attention grabbers. Like the song I quoted.

If not for this song (and a couple others from his two X rated albums) I may not have ever grown out of punk rock and into country music.

Country music always had this stigma to me of being lilly white, conservative, clean, safe, and basically the antithesis of the type of music I was into. Then I heard these songs where he clearly gave zero fucks about being remotely couth. I dug that.

But we already established that I'm the only one that thinks Wheeler Walker Jr. kicks a whole lotta ass, so I guess there ya go.
