I didn't mean to throw sand in your pussy.

No sand here.  I was hungover as hell yesterday morning and not in the best mood when I saw your post.

Just saw on Fox news that the new Rasmussen poll is out.

For the first time ever in this poll McCain is up by 3, 49% - 46% (margin of error +-2)
McCain has pulled within 2 (49%-47%) in of all states Washington

If McCain can compete in the northwest, Obama better look out

I'd like to see where things stand in a week after the hype dies down a little more.  McCain and Palin need to keep The Obama on his toes if there's any hope of them winning this thing.  The Obama seems to flutter under pressure looking like the amatuer that he is, and Biden is the comic relief.  "Stand up..."

Not so good news... but there's a little hope here.

http://www.electoral-vote.com/

The trick has always been winning the bigger states.  There are a number of scenarios assuming McCain can retain everything that's currently GOP (230), win FL (27) and pick up another 13+ electoral votes from the following likely states... PA (21), CO (9), NV (5), NH (4) and ND (3).  I don't think that WA (11) is really in play as they haven't voted GOP in years.

There are a couple of options that would only give him another 12 electoral votes, but 269 total votes would not result in a win.  The House would have to select the president in this situation, and with the Democrat majority, we know who they would select.

On the above website, McCain is at 270 as of today.  According to the latest polls, he's picked up FL (27), ND (3), NM (5), and NV (5).  I really didn't consider NM as a possibility, and CO (9) is still in play.  Let's hope this continues.

I still find it hard to believe that Colorado is in play in terms of a toss-up.  I can't figure out where that Obama support is coming from but then again I have not been there in a while and my only contacts there are in heavily-fundamentalist, conservative Colorado Springs.

I suspect that the pollsters are primarily hitting Denver.  Denver has followed the way of most major city centers.  They've built out lots of low income housing (birdfeeders).  They have an illegal immigrant problem (Que?).  They have several universities and colleges (indoctrinated twirps) that have grown significantly over the last several years.  It's a shame.
