This made me a little moist.  I fully expected both he and Lawson to come out.  I'm hoping Montravelosity has decided to dedicate himself to getting beast-mode strong and elevate himself to one of the top 3-4 tackles in the country.

This really helps us size-wise on the front 7.  With the guys coming in, we're going to have a butt-load of defensive end type players.  (I think Paul James is going to kick ass right away)  But with Adams returning, we suddenly have four big guys with a ton of experience across the front.  The "big nasties" look like:

M. Adams  6'4" 296
Maurice Come On Swain  6'5" 295
Devaroe Silverback Lawrence 6'2" 281
Dontavious Russell 6'2" 295
His Mama Call Him Jaunt'avious (Or something like that) Johnson 6'2" 322 (RS Fr)
Antwuan Jackson 6'2" 305 (Fr.)

Love to see them add another couple of big D-linemen to start stockpiling.  And it looks like they're in the running for several badasses.  I feel good about our front.  They need to use every other available scholarship on linebackers.

Was proud of Lawrence the last few games. He came through with some key stops. I count seven scholleyed linebackers coming back but don't recall much impactful playing time. What's the latest on long snappers?

If it were Nick Fairley or either Rocker joining Lawson, I'd actually be more inclined to "boom" with you.

It's worthy of a "nice" and that's about it.

He has "boom" potential but appears to feel entitled to it. He isn't.

MAYBE His Montraviousness plans on having a Nick Fairley type of season to close his career. Huh?

That's the hope.  So far, his AU career has been very similar.  (Longer, yes but similar)  I recall several times after NF would make some monster play and I'd ask, "Where has that been?"  And he'd fall off the earth for 3 games, then you'd see a flash of the beast again.  Same with Montravious@aliciousness.  After the Louisville game we thought this guy is kicking it up a notch.  I can't recall a whole lot after that.

My question is, what happened with Fairley?  How do you suddenly become this unbelievable disruptive force?  We don't win the MNC without Cam.  Take away Fairley from 2010 and we don't sniff of it either. He singlehandedly turned around at least 3 games that I can recall.  What caused the light to come on for him?

My best guess is that Tracy Rocker said look if you want to play in the NFL you need to step up the consistency and dominate.
He also had help from an unselfish front that gave themselves up on stunts that enabled him to make many of those plays.

And I don't necessarily think Fairley was so much stronger than his opponents. I think he just became motivated enough to overpower them. Our starting tackle's can run with any in the league they just aren't productive. Lack of coaching and motivation?

Isnt Fairley one of the reasons we almost beat Alabama in 2009? He come on pretty strong at the end of that year.  I'm thinking Russel does the same.

I done said it before. 2010 wasn't just Cam and Nick but we don't win without both, prolly.

But we had our best d and o lines in a long time then. We've had very good O line play since then but d line not so much.

Our 2010 starting d line was stout. And that's the only unit on that d that was consistent.

Lawson and Adams healthy and together should help both in the draft. But let's face it, we can't lean heavy on the defense all year and expect to go to ATL.

They gotsta help but JF3 gotta go gangsta. Or, whomever the main main will be. Please, oh please, let us have half decent QB play next yr.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
