Would I be wrong in saying that Charles Kelley would be the only hire that would help/not hurt Auburn in the recruiting with current commits and uncommitted prospects?
Yes.
I think it's time to firmly establish that no one can help/not hurt Auburn until the main source of shit is gone from the athletic department.
As stated before but to add on to it:
He ran off Tuberville.
He brought in 5-19 Chin Chizik.
He searched as far as the next number on his phone to hire Gus Malzahn.
Multiple coaches with a history of success have failed or been run off in their time at Auburn (Muschamp, Franklin (look at his history of producing good offenses), Van Gorder, Johnson, Muschamp again, Rocker, TRob).
Auburn is in the red financially, and we're still paying off contracts that had us by the balls.
He hired a baseball coach with a known history of behavior issues and he was fired after one year. He hired quite possibly the worst basketball coach in Auburn's history with Barbee. He hired Bruce Pearl who may be a great coach but came with a history of NCAA issues.
He's changed the atmosphere of football Saturdays. The jumbotron is a monstrosity that does nothing for the overall fan experience. It's merely a notch on his belt to get the "biggest." Biggest what, I don't know. But it's the biggest.
Let's not forget that Auburn was the number one swimming and diving program in the country when David Marsh was here, and Jay Jacobs pushed him out.
Maybe it's not the fault of Jay Jacobs. Maybe it's all a coincidence.
