Ok people, lets get back to the naming of names for the new DC. CHOP CHOP!
Dave Aranda-Wisconsin DC. Makes less than 500K and is a fucking geni...uh, he's really keen.

Interviewed with the Packers this past season. Ran a 3-4 this season but kicked ass running a 4-3 previously. Why wouldn't he listen the way Auburn throws money around? And unlike Paul Rhoads and Will Muschamp, he doesn't have that head coaching taste in his mouth, not yet.

I'm okay with Rhoads, Rocker or even T-Rob but we need stability, we need to continue improving and we need to retain the commits we have (if we can) and build on it. Whomever we end up with must also concede to having Rodney Garner (Barkley's cousin) as a co-worker.

Also:
* Don Brown- Boston College
He's much older than Aranda but top notch at his craft.
And like Florida, B.C. can't score points but they are flat out stingy on defense.

Who is the Iowa DC? Please let him come to AU!

However, I'm getting the feeling Muschamp isn't going anywhere. If true, I am very happy.

Scratch that, Rich says no to USCe. Well, looks like Muschamp will be their next HC.

I completely disagree. He owes us nothing unless his contract says otherwise. I hate to see him go.

Like all of us ...opportunities can provide change under the presumption for the better.  I believe you made a change.  Did you owe your employer something? Where you working to make a difference?  Did you make a move?

His contract doesn't state otherwise. He is opting out of it early. It's just without financial penalty as of about 8 hours ago.

Hey.  Fuck you.

I am a master negotiator.

I ran off Tommy Tuberville. I bounced Gene Chizik. I got rid of Muschamp not once but twice. I told Tracy Rocker to hit the bricks. I made sure we owed everybody who left an assload of money. Either that or I structured the contract so they could fuck us over and owe nothing.

No man is bigger than Auburn. Except me.

Would I be wrong in saying that Charles Kelley would be the only hire that would help/not hurt Auburn in the recruiting with current commits and uncommitted prospects?

Yes.

I think it's time to firmly establish that no one can help/not hurt Auburn until the main source of shit is gone from the athletic department.

As stated before but to add on to it:

He ran off Tuberville.

He brought in 5-19 Chin Chizik.

He searched as far as the next number on his phone to hire Gus Malzahn.

Multiple coaches with a history of success have failed or been run off in their time at Auburn (Muschamp, Franklin (look at his history of producing good offenses), Van Gorder, Johnson, Muschamp again, Rocker, TRob).

Auburn is in the red financially, and we're still paying off contracts that had us by the balls.

He hired a baseball coach with a known history of behavior issues and he was fired after one year. He hired quite possibly the worst basketball coach in Auburn's history with Barbee. He hired Bruce Pearl who may be a great coach but came with a history of NCAA issues.

He's changed the atmosphere of football Saturdays. The jumbotron is a monstrosity that does nothing for the overall fan experience. It's merely a notch on his belt to get the "biggest." Biggest what, I don't know. But it's the biggest.

Let's not forget that Auburn was the number one swimming and diving program in the country when David Marsh was here, and Jay Jacobs pushed him out.

Maybe it's not the fault of Jay Jacobs. Maybe it's all a coincidence.

I'd take Ed O but want none of Kines.

Ed has turned himself from a WILDBOYZZZZZ punchline into a sought after and highly effective defensive coach.

Pains me to agree with all of this. But it's true.

Marsh should have been a red flag. But no one really noticed at the time.

Would Coach O be able to sustain the current defensive commits? I do think he could come in and keep the current D from completely tanking for the shit bowl game but in my mind the recruiting class is more important right now.

He's known as a monster recruiter, so I'd bet on him holding most of the class together.

Coach O wants to be a head coach again. He's had great experience at USC and now has experience at LSU. If he comes to Auburn as DC, he'll be gone in a year. No doubt about it.

His specialty is defensive line. He's also a first rate recruiter.

I like it. Coach O up front, Kines with Linebackers and Oliver the secondary.
They can do paper, scissors, rock to see who's in charge. Worth a video just to see that.
