I miss Jim Fyffe.
1. We have shown weakness in the red zone due to shitty play-calling and penalties (We must keep in mind we are playing against the SEC refs too). We need more impact plays outside of the red zone (say between their 30-40 yardline) with the goal line within a few yards or in the end zone . JJ reminds me of JC absent the touch on the ball.
2. Leave JJ at QB and fake the handoffs on play action like Jason Campbell did in 2002. That fake was convincing with a effective long pass to Mix. Misdirection plays with the TE dragging across the middle opposite the flow. We've all seen this work. Hit the runningbacks, halfbacks and fullbacks in the flats and/or running fly patterns like Mario use to do (WRs clearing out the secondary). That shit works on bama's defenses. We will need to beat them through the air. Our offense must keep our defense on the bench. It cannot be a one-sided effort, as we are a TEAM.
3. Tight end? We do have one. Maybe Gushlee is saving those calls for the iron bowl.
4. Running up the gut may work on bama in the first quarter, or maybe it won't. The slow developing plays need to be scrapped and replaced with PB and JR running the damn football into their fat guys.
5. Defense. Blitz and shoot the gaps, but don't over run the play. Lay the wood to those fucks in pink.
6. Punter needs to show up with his wedge inside the 5 yardline.
7. Our guys MUST show up in a big way just to make it respectable. They must want it more than the fags to win it. No miracles needed for this one. Just hit them in the mouth, repeatedly, on every down until the whistle blows.
WDE!
