Yesterday made me feel good.
We keep improving little by little, we may have a shot to beat Arkansas, A&M, Ole Miss, and Georgia. A&M is probably the long shot, but we get Ole Miss and Georgia at home.
I was about to reply to your original post with essentially this.
I feel better than 50% about Arkansas, Ole Miss & Georgia. Not saying they're all three locks, but I am confident coming into those games as of today.
I feel less than 50% about A&M and Bama, but not resigning shit to them either.
My stance has been that some unpredictable off the field shit has thrown this season a curve ball. The goals shifted pretty quick. Not sure if it's all directly related to the Duke situation or what. Johnson for sure, for what ever reason, did not live up remotely to the hype. So we're having to adjust.
Laugh all you want, but Kentucky isn't a total joke of a team. Their only loss before us was by 5 points to Florida. Already beaten SC & Mizzou. I found a lot of encouragement that we got our shit together enough to not fuck that up.
Georgia has been grossly overrated from the beginning of the season. Nearly as bad as we were. And now they've lost their one major weapon in Chubb. Going forward, I think UK is going to better than they are.
Arkansas is sort of the opposite. Started out as a dumpster fire losing to Toledo & Texas Tech. They're getting their legs under them a bit by beating Tennessee and then beating Bama for a half and hanging with them for 3 1/2 quarters. Still very beatable.
Ole Miss beating Bama earned them a lot of good will. Next best win is to Vandy. I think they've spent their annual spoiler card. Thankfully on my favorite opponent to use it on.
Feel less confident than I'd like to against Bama, but they are not the world beaters they were a few years ago. Will be interesting to see how they fare against LSU.
Agree that A&M is probably our longest shot going forward.
In addition to the aforementioned visible improvement we saw this week, the skreets have been mumbling that Carl Lawson is set to return soon, maybe even this week.
All of those things make me feel pretty good moving forward.
