This has nothing to do with the price of rice in China. Just a pet peeve of mine. I thought one area that White excelled in was with his running. The keepers were timed well and there were several times he just barely got tripped up, preventing a huge gain. But last night on the way home, I'm listening to Rod Bramblett give the stats and I think he said White had something like 29 yards rushing, which was somewhat skewed because of the sacks he took.
If a QB lines up in the shotgun, takes a snap and is clearly tucking it under and running the ball....if he's tackled behind the line, what is it called? A tackle for loss. What yardage total does that affect? Your rushing yards. Now, if it looks like he's trying to pass and he gets tackled behind the line, what is that called? A sack. (Ball sack....chortles) What's the only way you can get a sack? On a passing play. And when the QB gets sacked on a passing play, what yardage total does that affect? The passing yarda....wait....nope.
Means nothing. I just think the person who decided that should be hung and quartered. But like I said...
Speaking of Bramblett, admittedly, me and mini snuck out midway through the 4th to beat some traffic out for the long drive. Got to the truck (New F-150) and caught the last 5-6 minutes of the game. You want to talk about depressing. Bramblett had apparently given up long ago. He really didn't want to call the game. Hard to tell what was going on. He'd be talking to Stan about how shitty they are, then all of a sudden go, "And Roc maybe gets a yard". On the on-side kick, he's still going on about how they suck. You know Rod, there is a minute left and we are one score down. There is the slightest glimmer of hope. Not for Rod. Right in the middle of his pity party, he says something about having two kickers out there then happens to mention that the ball went out of bounds. Holy crap, Rod. I get that much from Eli Gold.
