Also, I think y'all's theory that putting a backup QB in to "light a fire under his ass", thankfully is not one that our coaches adhere to.

There's a reason they (or any other successful D1 coach) believes that. It isn't how it works.
I'm just thankful that you're off suspension and able to share insight regarding you're knowledge of successful d1 coaches. It's comforting.

I don't know that I would call Spurrier, Petrino, Dye and several others that have done it unsuccessful.  Saban was ready to throw Coker to the wolves in our game, if Sims hadn't made that TD to Amari against us.
Add The Ohio State Buckeye's coach and Les Miles off the top of my head. I guess it depends on the year and circumstances but its definitely not unheard of. Not the norm but there are lots of examples of giving the next guy a shot.

Pretty sure after he got benched Brandon got his shit together, led Auburn to a road win against the defending NCs, and was able to turn the season around. Maybe seeing a few plays from the sideline does Johnson some good. What really baffles me, if JJ is having problems reading Cover 2, why in the hell hasn't Gus broke out the film of opposing QBs when Chizik was here?

IF he will RUN THE BALL the entire field will open for PLAY ACTION which ideally should create more space for all.

This should help him adjust and hopefully minimize those horrendous throws.
