4th would be respectable if there were 10-12 teams in the west. It might be fashionable to cite the fact that only four can make the playoff if you're content gunning for a participation trophy.

There is way too much emphasis on winning. I think a participation trophy every year should suffice.

Dude, no offense but this is a ridiculous comparison. We had BOTH Ellis Johnson AND Jake Holland. Those kind of proven combinations just don't happen very often.
