Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Came back from Hot Springs, Arkansas yesterday, it rained so hard that we had to pull over, what is normally a 4 1/2 hour trip took almost 8 hours. Between the rain storms and the accidents it was brutal. Bad flooding here in the Dallas area. My backyard is a lake and chances of rain every day this week.

Places in downtown Houston got it pretty bad. 6 inches last night alone. Any place along a bayou or creek or lake was underwater. Those of us who live away from the concrete jungle are better off but the creek just south of my house is cresting under the bridge. All the canals, drainage ditches and retention ponds are full, so any more rain and we may be in trouble, at least in terms of flooded roads.

There's a 50% or greater chance of rain every day for the next 8 days as well.

Needless to say (but I'll say it anyway) - the drought in Texas is over. It's even been raining in Midland.   Fun fact:  Did you know Midland is Indian for "fucking dry desert"?

Thank you, dear - we are fine.  Best clarify:  not in Montgomery, AL.  Montgomery County, TX.

Right now it is.

Damn skippy. Dexter has turned our sunken fire pit in the backyard into his personal swimming pool. Even when it's not raining, the water table is so high that it's staying full.

It is, notice we are doing 25 in a 75 zone, so I am pretty sure we are ok. Not my vehicle, I was sitting in the back.

Same here north of Dallas, got another rain storm last night, Something yellow is in the sky right now so I may try and figure out what it is.
