On the off-chance that the fairy tales ain't bunk
And Imma keep a bottle of that funk

There was a storm down there recently. I bet Snags was tied up fishing for clients visiting the sick in the ER.

And now from Al.Com http://www.al.com/auburnfootball/index.ssf/2015/05/gus_malzahn_provides_update_on.html#incart_2box

Quote
Injuries piled up during the spring for Auburn, but Gus Malzahn is expecting a healthy roster when the Tigers start practicing again in August.

Twelve players were held out of Auburn's A-Day game April 18, though many of the injuries were not serious.

Three players are on the mend following surgeries: cornerback T.J. Davis (ACL), cornerback Jonathan Jones (foot) and defensive end DaVonte Lambert (ACL).

"Everybody is coming along well," Malzahn said Monday outside a Tiger Trek event in Eufaula. "We expect our entire team to be ready."

Davis underwent surgery to repair an ACL in mid-March. Lambert had surgery in November and did not participate in spring drills.

"Obviously we'd like to have those guys back starting out (in August), so we'll just see, but we expect them all to be on the field in a short period of time, at least after the season starts," Malzahn said.

Auburn's Gus Malzahn speaks at Wiregrass Tiger Trek
Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn talks to the media Monday, May 4, 2015, during the Wiregrass Tiger Trek stop in Eufaula, Ala. (Julie Bennett/ jbennett@al.com)
Davis was performing well early in spring drills and was competing for a starting job (Auburn was thin at cornerback in the spring) before suffering the injury.

"He's one of those kids that's very resilient," Malzahn said. "He's very tough-minded; he has his mind set that he's going to be back. He is ahead of schedule right now with his rehab, which is very encouraging. We expect him to be out there, at least in fall camp. We'll see how he comes along, but before the end of the year we definitely expect him to be a part."

The average recovery time from ACL surgery for an NFL player is 10.8 months, according to the Richomd Bone and Joint Clinic in Sugarland, Texas. ACL surgeries usually require six to nine months of recovery time before a player can return to action.

Auburn's most recent sample of extended recovery time is defensive end Carl Lawson, who underwent surgery May 1, 2014, but missed the entire season. Coaches held him out of full-contact drills, including three scrimmages, in the spring as a precautionary measure -- nearly one year since surgery.

Auburn also held out the following players on the two-deep depth chart during the A-Day scrimmage: offensive tackle Shon Coleman (undisclosed), offensive guard Jordan Diamond (back), linebacker Justin Garrett (ankle), defensive end Raashed Kennion (concussion), offensive guard Alex Kozan (back, precautionary), and receivers Tony Stevens (leg) and Stanton Truitt (shoulder).

Corch Mal-uh-zan was in the Wiregrass spewing forth insider info and I know your prodigious ass was there.

Spill it.

Pretty intriguing stuff.  A few noteworthy tidbits:

*Jeremy Johnson tore a biceps muscle in the last practice after the Spring game.  Not too serious and they expect him back by game 2 or 3.  Has complete confidence in White to run the show.

*Roc Thomas earned the #1 spot at RB.  Barber appears to be #2.  He kind of alluded to Robinson having some "issues" but in typical Malzahn fashion, he didn't say much.  Skuttlebutt around the place was grades.

*Really happy with the way the defense progressed overall in the Spring.  100% certain Muschamp was the "right guy at the right time".  Made mention that CWM has a few tricks up his sleeve and we may see some crazy formations to throw opposing offenses off their game, including 11 man fronts.

*Said Duke is the guy that keeps it lively in the locker room. Loves to give wedgies and towel pops when guys are coming out of the shower.  Even put about a 3" welp on Chandler Cox' right thigh.  The guys got a big laugh out of it and pinned Cox down while Duke gave him a Noogie.  Should be a fun season.

*Malzahn wasn't really surprised by the Elijah Daniel thing.  He had a Rolex go missing last season after he had some players over for BBQ and a pool party.  Two weeks ago, his Dr. Dre Beats headphones disappeared as well.  Pretty sure that problem has been solved but doubts he'll ever see his Beats again.

*CGM was pretty funny and candid talking about other teams around the league.  Said beating Mizzou in the 2013 SECCG was a done deal before it even started.  Said the majority of their players were more concerned with staying high and wondering who would be next to "come out" in the locker room.  They actually took it easy on Pinkel because Gus knew he had an out of control locker room and he has a lot of respect for Gary.

*He said Jameis Winston was not the most upstanding citizen in college football but then, the whole world knew that already.  Said he was certain he had a deal in place for Winston to throw the MNC game and had already fronted half the $$$.  But of course, Winston double-crossed him.  He sais he really learned from that one but it's all part of the growth process in becoming a great head coach in this league.

*Gus also said he wondered where Snaggles was.  Apparently, this was over an hour away from Dothan and Snags knew nothing of it.  But he feels certain Snags will be ready for the next one.

I contacted my sources and they said this is not true. Its just that there is a divide in the locker room and more of the guys want the White kid to start.

Well, there is a faction of the team that really loves Queen.  But they won't come out and admit it.

I've heard there is a rift between this group, the AC/DC guys, and The Eagles gang.

This "family feud" could put the upcoming season in jeopardy.
