The Calipari crash
« on: April 05, 2015, 02:27:08 PM »
Funny to me to hear people decrying the Kentucky basketball season as a waste. It meant nothing.  It is a complete and total failure.

So very bama-ish.

I wouldn't want to live like that every year. "Champeenships er bust, bitches!"  I enjoy the the games.  I'd hate to live an existence where any season that ends without a title is disastrous.  Yeah, you want to win.  Winning leads to titles. But I enjoy the journey more so than the destination.

^^This is the kind of defeatist, loser attitude that we need less of. No room for this on the Gus Bus. CFB playoff or nothing. Anything less is for losers. And I ain't nothin' but a winner.

I've said this many times but it goes directly to your point.  In 2010, I went to every home game and the SECCG but couldn't swing the MNC game.  We had people over to watch it and when AU won the title, we high fived, fist bumped, rubbed wieners together or whatever was appropriate at the time. We celebrated a little, everyone went home and I went to bed.  Got up and went to work the next day and the most I said to anyone about it when asked was, "That was a lot of fun. Glad I got to see one in my lifetime."

But had we gone 14-0 with a MNC, or 4-8 or 10-3 or whatever, my fat ass would still have been in JHS for the opener the next fall and most home games after that.  It's about Auburn, Auburn people, game day, real traditions, tailgating etc.  Nothing about my life is affected in any way by whether or not my alma tomater wins a football game, much less a championship.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

The fact that despite how much fun we were having at the 2012 TAMU tailgate, we all left and trundled into the stadium (or staggered, in Buzz's case) to watch the ass rape we knew we were going to get says it all.

Win, lose or tie, we're Auburn til we die.

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.'

Funniest part of the game:  Jets missing the stadium on the flyover.
Coolest part: The Sky dive at 1/2 time.
Worst part. Same Auburn team came back at 1/2 time. I left and went and found cold things to drink.

Only Auburn game I've ever actually gotten up and walked out of in disgust.  I told the people I was sitting with that I was giving AU one series after halftime and if they still looked like they didn't give a frippity frap about being there, then I didn't either. It's a long drive home at night.  I gave them one series and I was headed south.

It was crowded leaving right after 1/2 time. I heard very strong language in reference to our leaders at that time. To be honest there was prolly more traffic then, then after the game.

Post-game traffic? The only people left in the stands midway through the 4th quarter was Jen, me, the Auburn band, Mike Raita, and about 20 other people.

The Mead took no prisoners that day. At least Sumlin had mercy on us in the second half. The Mead did not.
