It didn't get any better than the Saturday morning wrasslin' at the Boutwell Auditorium.  Bob "Bullet" Armstrong matching up with Adrian Street.

Back in the late 70s, my younger brother was obsessed with wrestling. If it was on TV, we had to watch.
Now my brother was born with scoliosis pretty bad and about 8 years old, he went off to the Shriner's hospital in SC. It was a grueling time form him. He came back about six months later with a body cast all the way down to both knees. he had a tough time getting around and lived mostly on a chair in front of the TV...watching wrestling. Well one of the pins in his leg used for traction got infected and they had to cut the cast off of that leg. (and take the pin out). Well that gave him the ability to sit up at an angle. That was all he needed. Wresting was coming to Montgomery and he had to go. So my dad hauls him over to the civic center and he gets to sit up in the front row on a metal chair. By the time the thing finished, my dad swears he picked my brother up off the floor at least twenty times. He was so into it that while yelling and throwing his own punches, he would flop into the floor. the best night of his young life. Many of the wrestlers came by and said hello. needless to say, wrestling continued to be on our TV for a long time. That was back in the day when the money was not as big as the personalities.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

I almost kicked Brad's ass one night at the New Brockton farm center. Lucky for him, I had a buddy there to hold me back. "Hole me back! Hole me back!", I said.
