According to what I found out:

AF says you don't have to finish basic, just have to be in active military for 180 days.

There is some discrepancy with the Marines and Army saying your 180 days start until after basic, but I haven't found anything conclusive.

Besides if she is getting treatment by the VA the Obamas view her as a Vet.

My question what basic training takes 180 days to complete unless said trainee gets recycled several times? Sounds like bs to me. From what I understand Private Whatshertwat only finished BT. If that be the case, she must have had some problems in of itself. Not to mention the AF basic is the easiest of all the branches to complete.

Iirc, she completed basic and got her orders for Tech School. She joined the AF to be a photographer, but they decided she'd be better suited to be a engine mechanic, or something similar, in North Dakota or somewhere as desirable...then her medical problems started.

Well, even with that, Basic and AIT does not take 5 months to complete unless, like you said, her "medical" problems started. Sounds to me more like attitude problems. The Air Force was ready to cut their losses and give her whatever to send her on her way.

From her online stories, I don't believe it was "Sexual" it was just harassment.  Supposedly stemming from her being married to a muslim.

I thought the empowerment steamed from the rape or alleged rape while she was under the umbrella of the govt.
Apparently PTSD makes one eligible for a guide dog or an attorney can push for one in certain instances to satisfy the victim.

Yeah, I agree...but with her being married to a Muslim and in the military, I'm starting to think it was just harassment, like GF stated. I guess you harass anyone anymore without them having PTSD from it.

Different type of working dog altogether but this video turned up on my bookfaces last night. A look into the training, job, and retirement of military dogs. My dog won't piss outside if it's raining yet here's a dog jumping out of a plane.

They are some serious badasses.
