Quote
LSU may have lost to Notre Dame in the Music City Bowl, but the Tigers may be able to gain one thing from the Fighting Irish: their former starting quarterback. Everett Golson, who started 12 games at quarterback for Notre Dame this season, is interested in transferring to LSU and has reached out to the school, according to a report from NOLA.com’s Jim Kleinpeter posted Monday.

Golson was replaced by sophomore Malik Zaire during Notre Dame’s regular season finale, followed by Zaire starting the bowl game against Notre Dame and leading the Irish on a last-minute game-winning drive. Many expect Golson to transfer if Zaire holds onto the starting job.

While the report did not give a timeframe on when Golson reached out to LSU, Kleinpeter said that the school is exploring the possibility. Golson is a senior at Notre Dame and is slated to graduate in May but has one year of eligibility remaining. The SEC recently lifted its ban on graduate student transfers, meaning Golson would be eligible to play for the Tigers immediately if he were to transfer. However, LSU would have to obtain a waiver from the SEC according to Kleinpeter’s report, as Golson has an academic transgression on his record.

After leading Notre Dame to an undefeated 2012 regular season and the BCS Championship against Alabama, Golson was suspended for the fall 2013 semester due to academic ineligibility. Golson’s suspension was due to “poor judgement on a test,” which led to him missing all of the 2013 season.

Golson had major issues with turnovers in 2014. He threw 14 interceptions and led the country with eight fumbles lost. He still threw for 3,445 yards and 29 touchdowns on the year, both of which far outpace what LSU did through the air.

The Tigers’ quarterback struggles in 2014 were well documented, and Golson, despite his problems giving the ball away, would present an upgrade over Anthony Jennings. Jennings started 12 games for LSU in 2014, although he completed just 48.9 percent of his passes. LSU finished 116th nationally in passing offense, often negating its strong running game. Barring a quarterback transferring in, Jennings is expected to compete with Brandon Harris for the starting job next season.

LSU dean of admissions will squash this before it even has a chance to happen, what with the academic transgression and all. You know, with LSU being the shining light on the hill for SEC academia and all. Football takes a back seat.

That turnover slot machine would turn their quarterback output from little to even less.

The LSU fans I know would sell their left Lesticle for a real live QB. And a former ND boy?  That thought got a lot of good Catholic wives preggers all over NOLA tonight.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

Well, as soon as he gets himself cleaned up and gets a little smellum in his hair, why, he's gonna feel 100% better about himself and about life in general.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
