My seven cents.

1) Here's the thing that worries me about this Auburn team.  Next year.  A&M is going to be better.  LSU is going to be shit-tons better.  Arkansas is going to be better.  Alabama will be allowed to cheat and play a cupcake schedule so they will remain about the same. Mississippi State and Ole Miss will slide back to irrelevance. But the rest of the West will be improved. The row isn't going to get any easier to hoe a year from now.  That's why this year should have been so important.  This was the best opportunity in years for AU to be in a position to dominate.  But nah.  No thanks.

2) I hate the raging red fuck out of Bret Bulemia and the Arkansas Fuckerbacks.  That smug bloated fuckersnog makes me physically ill.  I can't stand that ass bag.

3) Rece Davis can pull my pud.  I heard that Bama honking bobo on the radio today using the fact that Jameis shoved a referee as an excuse to soapbox about pace of play and how it was incumbent on the officials to slow things down.  Fuck you, Reece. Eat my shorts, you bag of ass.

4) I don't understand this game.  How can Georgia get punked by a Florida team that did nothing but run and then stuff the leading rushing game in the SEC and one of the top in the country?  How can A&M shit the bed against a weak Alabama team and then drag AU all over the field?  How can LSU look like warmed over puke against Auburn, take Bama to the brink (and should have beaten them) and then soil their drawers against a shitty Arkansas team?  How can Alabama be number one when they are so shitty on offense?  They're the weakest they've been in six or seven years but don't play a single team capable of exploiting their myriad weaknesses.  Fuck this entire season, it's made me not care about football at all.

5) Why they fuck can't ANYBODY finish off the punk ass shit burger Seminoles?  Every garbage bag team they play pushes them to the wall, but none of them can finish.  They should have lost five games already.  BTW?  I wish Jimbo Fisher would DIAF.  And I hope when he does that inbred retard Dumbo Swinney was sleeping over.  Two for one.

6) I'd love to believe there was magic left in the bag, but the Georgia fucknasty leads me to believe that the bag is completely empty and will need to be replenished in the offseason.

7)  I may be in the minority but I have Nick Marshall fatigue.  He's done a lot of great things in his AU career but since he threw to the wrong receiver in the Georgia game and got away with the win, he's decided he's a long baller and CONTINUTALLY bypasses shorter first-down type routes to sling it up into double, triple and quadruple coverage.  Hell, if you put 11 DBs on the field to shadow Coates on a stop and go route on third and six, Marshall would still throw it 45 yards and hope he'd come up with it.  The fuck of it all is that Coates probably would catch that.  But don't dare target him on a wide open 12-yard route for a first down because that ball is hitting the turf.

Be honest.  Only one of these statements has made you not care about football at all.

The ebb and flow of teams rising and falling is normal.  Auburn 2014 is the Georgia of 2013.  They returned just about everyone important from the 2012 that damn near beat Alabama.  Started off the season pretty well.  5-1.  Then they lost to Missouri and friggin Vanderbilt, and suddenly they were chump change.

And LSU sucked early in the season because they're playing around 9 true freshman and 5 sophomores.  As those young players improved, the team improved.  And if they had any semblance of a quarterback, they'd probably have beaten Alabama and maybe put up a fight against Arkansas.

Alabama though is killing CFB.  Legal or not, they're pulling in more NFL talent each February than any school in the history of the game, and even when they have an average team, their size and athleticism makes them very hard to beat.

But I am gaining some confidence about this week.  IF our team gets their collective heads out of their asses, we can compete with and beat Alabama.  Even the team that played against Miss State and Texas A&M could compete with Alabama.  Unfortunately, our last two games have featured a team that would get run out of town.

Yes, we "can" compete with them.

But its the "will we" that we all need to see.

We also COULD beat Aggy, MSU and Georgia but we didn't.

I'm with K. I want to believe so badly in this team but my confidence has waned to almost nothing. We haven't just lost...we've lost ugly.

If it happens in T Town Saturday, thats awesome and I'll be happy. It would be a helluva coup. I'm just trying to be realistic here and see that, it is what it is.

My Nickel's Worth

It was brought to my attention by a longtime Bammer friend of mine that Auburn hired a high school coach that had huge success on that level. He further acknowledged that Malzahn was also successful at Arkansas State but that the reality of what it takes to maintain that success as a head coach in the SEC is just something he is learning the hard way. It was a phone conversation so he wasn't able to see the hair stand up on the back of my neck and I maintained enough composure with my voice so as not to reveal my hatred for him at that moment. Then suddenly out of the blue he quickly told me he had a call coming in and had to go.

Afterwards I began thinking about what he said and dismissed it as just Bammer babble but it did give me pause, not in the loss I saw coming at Starkville or the humiliating beatdown we endured in Athens. It's that fucking TAMU debacle that bothers me the most because we were outplayed and out-coached badly by a less talented, wayward team with a good plan and a talented yet greenhorn QB making his first road start at JHS.

I don't have a great deal of confidence that we will respond well in Tuscaloosa after watching what appeared to be a backyard football game against Samford last week. All I can think is if this is the way Nick Marshall is going to be allowed to play then we are in trouble. After all, he is a team leader and it follows that the rest of the team (at least the offense) would follow suit...which it did.

So given we get our two holding calls, two pass interference calls, two procedure calls, a muffed punt exchange and at least one pick; can we overcome the road environment, getting backed-up deep a couple of times by that freak of a punter they have, avoid getting burned deep (wide open) less than twice and muster enough tackling skills to make Alabama work as hard as they have all season?
Moreover, will our team respond after getting hit in the mouth and being down a score because both are likely to happen?

We aren't built to come out and just run over a seasoned top ranked team like Alabama the way Georgia ran roughshod over us. We will not surprise them with a dazzling gameplan and a different QB slicing and dicing their secondary the way TAMU did us. We know they are beatable, Ole Miss proved that. But Alabama also knows what they stand to lose if we go in there and play better than we played that night in Manhattan, Kansas against a team that was hellbent on derailing our season much earlier than those back-to-back failures.

Whatever the outcome, our response on the field will be a reflection of how prepared our coaches have this team because the players should have all of the inspiration and energy required just knowing it's Alabama.

THIS

And I have no reason at this point to think most of that shit won't happen again. I keep thinking every game it is going to go away but it doesn't. It just keeps happening. Even against lowly Samford. Now we are playing the best team on our schedule at their place and they have a NC on the line. My natural vibe for this one just isn't good. I really wish they would prove me wrong.

^^This. And obviously, jmar is trying to be realistic about what could happen and pretty much what has happened in all losses. We've gone out of the way to beat the shit out of ourselves. The only ass whipping we took was by the thugs and we still helped them.

I'm just trying to prepare myself mentally to not be let down. It's always a let down, anytime we lose and especially when we lose the IB.

But, there is no way on earth that based on past performance of last several weeks that we should win this game. Therefore, there should be very little pressure on our team. I think that's when we seem to perform the best. As underdogs and with little to lose.

That means that we could, at the very least, make it interesting. Or, if the team that played Georgia shows up, we could get our teeth kicked in worse than 2012. It's a toss up. But, in order to win, will take our best game.

Not that the fans matter but it would really be something if our team shows up and wins in spite of the severe ineptitude it seems to have adopted since we threw away the playbook and went to drawing up those doozies in the dirt. And imagine Saban's response when a team like ours puts over 400 yards on his vaunted defense and we somehow cover their receivers enough to force them to try to run for only a modest number of yards to the point that they have to throw it in a pressurized fourth quarter-where Blake Sims has never been "the man" in previous Iron Bowls.

Imagine that WT...we often commit the untimeliest errors, can barely catch a decently thrown ball, can't tackle a fucking lick and regularly lose opposing receivers when we are running right beside them! How can Auburn beat Alabama this Saturday? And how in the hell could it possibly happen here on this earth where we breathe and dwell while knowing this game as well as we do?
They will tell you it isn't possible.
But don't you believe them WiregrassTiger.

Please stop referencing or basing anything we've done, will do, might do...off the Samford game.  Defensively, we held them to 7 points and 238 total yards. Offensively, we were without 2 of our best weapons and played as conservative a game as I've ever seen....in a pouring rain.  And yes, it rained from the opening kickoff to the 4th quarter.  It was a let's just get through it, senior night win.

Everything that's been going wrong for this team the past few weeks is simply a matter of focus.  Concentration.  Fumbles, dropped passes and penalties have nothing to do with talent.  It's all about focus on every play.  Granted, we don't match up well with the wide open, spread clubs that fling it around.  We're not playing that type of team Saturday night.  I've seen people say Georgia ran roughshod over Auburn.  Yeah, they got theirs.  But not like USCe or A&M.  They got theirs because all those lapses in concentration....dropped passes, roughing penalties, muffed punts...meant our offense never got in sync.

The bottom line for me is I'm not going into this game feeling like we're going to automatically continue that trend.  I'm going to expect every player on this team to pop a 5 hour energy every single play.  I'm expecting Gus to come in with a nothing-to-lose attitude and open up everything he's got.  I'm expecting Nick Marshall to give a big fuck you to all the naysayers and put this team on his back.  Whether he's pro QB material or not, I'm expecting him to believe he is and want to make a statement Saturday night.

I'm expecting 35-30 no matter who wins.  I'm expecting jmar to call his friend back and tell him to shove it up his bammer ass.

I hope you are right. I really do. And I was that way up until about this week.

The whole point about Samford was not about the score or stats or Sullivan pity or anything like that. It was the eye test. Technique still looked sloppy. Slants were still wide open. Tackles still missed in open field. Just some of the same shit. Sure, they wore them down in the 2nd half and tightened up like a straight man's asshole in prison. But there were still enough lack of fundamentals and mistakes to make one shake the head (no, not the one at the urinal at JHS).

But the rain excuse? Lame. UGA-ish. I sat in the shit until 5 mins til the end. It wasn't that bad aside from a few mins in the 2nd. And barely rained the rest of the time. Samford also played in it...on the same field even.

We beat the ever lovin' shit out of LSU.  Name your score. Bama had an overtime win handed to them against the same club.  Bama went on the road and the Rebel Black Bears sent em' home with an L.  We went to the same stadium and broke their hearts.  Arky had no excuses for not doing better than a 14-13 loss and would have if Bulemia hadn't gone full on tard and thrown the ball every fucking down in the 2nd half.  Auburn only beat the Hawgs by 146 points and held them to negative threeve yards in the 2nd half.

I'm gonna' have a cooler of beer, bourbon (And DCP), wings, ribs and all the sides and my fat ass is going to be pacing the floor on every play like it's the last.  I'm gonna; throw my cap 50 times and give Lord Saybinz the bird 100 times.  And all the people who come over to my house are going to think I've lost my mutha-frickin' mind.  This ain't 2012.  We've got talent and we can whip dat ass Saturday.

And my texting crew better have my back.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

Was it over when Georgia tried to kick that game winning kick with 1 second on the clock last year?
