Well that is to go to Atlanta, which may or may not happen.  We win out and we are in the playoff without going to Atlanta.
I hope you are right. However I don't place too much faith in the committee giving the SEC the respect in a year where there will be one or maybe two undefeated teams and my belief that they will want to be more regional when it comes to filling the remaining spots which they can say are the best four teams.

If the CFB season continues as is, there will not be one single undefeated team this year

I'd wager that the winner of FSU/ND this weekend finishes unbeaten.

The FSU/UL game is a Thursday night game I believe. Could be interesting.

I'd wager that the winner of FSU/ND this weekend finishes unbeaten.

That would be the most likely if any considering their remaining schedules. My theory is based solely on outcomes so far and growing likelihood there may even be a team with two losses in the playoff. FSU hasn't been world beaters and could easily slip up to a less talented but more hungry team outside of ND. ND still has USC. Funny thing is, both teams play Louisville.

I'm going back and forth on this one. I haven't looked at all scenarios but we know that FSU, Okie, Baylor, ND, MSU, Ole Piss, Bama and AU are all players at this point, right? Oregon and Mich state a little lower.  Let's pencil in ND and Okie and say that FSU gets eliminated Thur. We win out and Miss State wins out. State goes to SEC champ and to playoff. One spot left for playoff. If Baylor only has one loss to Okie (or vice versa) or Mich state wins out, I think we have to worry about anti SEC bias.

I could see people preaching equality. And I especially doubt that any SEC west team gets in with 2 losses. Point being, I'm thinking that the 4 team playoff is more about "hope and change" for the rest of the country. The fact that we play in the toughest division in all of football bites us in the ass, imo. We have to win out AND keep our fingers crossed.

I would love another shot at both Miss State and FSU.

I'm betting the players would love their shot at redemption  against these two. It would be glorious I believe.

In my dream scenario:

Auburn wins out, obviously. Including to Ole Miss, Georgia, and Bama on the road.

Bama loses to A&M this weekend. They rebound and beat UT convincingly, but then struggle against LSU but still end up squeaking out a win on some bullshit lucky interception in the end zone or something. Then they face MSU and get mauled. They're completely out of the SEC or playoff discussion, but hanging on to like a #20 ranking by the time Auburn gets to Tuscaloosa, and Auburn beats them by 3 TDs or more in front of a sea of crying Gumps. Bama drops completely out of the Top 25. Bammers call into Finebaum saying "PAAAWL, if we weren't playin for champeenships, we don't even wanna play. There weren't no reason to even try, PAAWWL. Tennessee's our real rival. We don't care about little brother." Bammers lose their shit and demand Kiffin's head on a platter, and lose faith in Saban almighty as well.

Meanwhile...

Ole Miss rolls through UT & LSU, but hit a brick wall against Auburn. We play lights out that game. One of our two or three best games of the year. Ole Miss rebounds against Arkansas, which brings us to the egg bowl...

MSU loses some of their momentum during this coming BYE week. Kentucky comes in and beats them up, but MSU narrowly pulls out a win. They go into Arkansas beaten up and end up dropping a game to ol' BERT. Maybe in overtime. The Egg Bowl and Iron Bowl, especially the Egg Bowl, combine for the most significance of all time. Auburn beats Bama at home convincingly in the 2:30 game. All comes down to the Egg Bowl prime time game. Auburn fans gritting their teeth pulling for Ole Miss. They end up pulling it out with a game winning TD with under a minute left on the clock.

We don't necessarily need MSU to drop 2 games.  We obviously need to win out, but also need to cheer for Ole Piss to win every game but ours.

That puts a 3 -way tie for the West between Us, Ole Piss and MSU.  According to the new SEC rules ($1 WE!!!) in a 3 -way tie scenario the tie breaker is the (used to be BCS  Standings) total winning percentage of your 2 Eastern Division foes.

We obviously face USCe and UGAly
MSU faces Vandy & Kentucky
Ole Miss faces Vandy and UT

I like our chances in that.  We still gotta take care of our business though.

Why's that? It's basically the same scenario, either way you need Ole Miss to win.

Where was the Bama melt?  Where was the last Saturday of the regular season featuring us in a must-win vs. Alabama and a must-lose in the Egg Bowl?

That's the stuff of Romance novels.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."
