Nah. He's insulated. He knows enough to know where the skeletons are hidden, but has maintained deniability (even if it's laughable).
Nothing is ever his fault: players don't execute, other teams play too fast (and use illegal blocking schemes), boosters run rogue.
I wish this were true, but nah. Too much culpability and would tarnish his legacy.
That being said, I
do see the first part happening. He
will lose one or two of these depending on how badly the wheels fall off: Arkansas, Texas A&M, LSU, Mississippi State. Most likely A&M & State. And he
will lose to Auburn. .500 or worse in the West. Book it. I've got them at 9-3 or 8-4 after this season.
The Bama fanbase
will get salty about it. They'll surely demand Kiffin's head on a platter, but there will most likely be a lot of discontent with Saban as well. Three losses while Auburn plays for the championship two years in a row while they sit at home and watch is NOT going to sit well with them. Saban being 0-2 against Gus will NOT sit well with them.
Not sure if it'll be enough for him to up and quit, but it will be fun to watch, regardless.
