I'm torn about it because really who does it hurt the most....the players and the fans. The ones who had nothing to do with the kid handler.

Everyone involved is no longer with PSU as far as I know.

Thisa rat cheah.

Besides. If they don't allow them to be eligible, their conference does not stand a chance of getting any teams in the playoffs.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

All that happened while paterno and the admin knew and covered it up.

Punish the institution.  Players who decide to go there? They know what they're getting into.

I disagree with this "prism of time" punishment shit. Rage dies down because it's not immediate so we remove a punishment most felt at the time was too lenient.

Again though you are punishing the entire institution for the actions of a few.  Those that were involved got what they deserved.

I understand the argument when it comes to taking away scholarships to athletes because some staff provided lunch money or vehicles to players in the past.

This was cultural.  Out of all of the scandals and stories concerning NCAA compliance, this was the worst in the history of its existence.  A football program was placed above the well-being of children.  A sick and twisted old man was able to use that football program to gain access to victims.  Everyone from the legendary head coach to the board of trustees to the employees that walked the halls of the athletic department was guilty of allowing this to happen.

A large contingency of the fan base supported Paterno despite what came out about him.

If anyone needed to be taught a lesson, it was Penn State.

Yep.  Fuck the NCAA in the ass with a big wooden dildo.  I don't remember anyone coming off probation early for lesser crimes (keep it down home cuz).  Why should these pederasses?

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Does not EVERY probation or penalty to a program do this?

Did Dye, Blakeney, Ramsey in 1989/1990 not adversely affect Tot, Gandy, Bostic and others in 1993? Same with Al Golden and Butch Jones. Mike Dumbose and Mike Shula.

To me it penalizes the entire program as a whole. The Athletic Dept.

This is BS. And more reason why the Power Conferences need to do their own thing and put the NCAA out of business.
