Auburn's Bruce Pearl lands top junior college guard T.J. DunansBy Jon Rothstein | CBS SportsAugust 25, 2014 9:23 am ET Bruce Pearl's hot streak continues.Fresh off his NCAA-imposed show-cause penalty, the new Auburn coach received a commitment from 2015 junior college guard T.J. Dunans from Columbia State (Tenn.) Community College. On Sunday, Pearl got a commitment from four-star power forward Horace Spencer.The 6-foot-5 Dunans (22.5 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 4.4 apg) is considered the nation's top junior college guard.The Tigers also received a commitment over the weekend from 6-7 small forward Danjel Purifoy, another Top 100 prospect in the Class of of 2015.Dunans likely will start for Auburn, along with Marshall transfer Kareem Canty, in 2015-16.
Bruce Pearl's hot streak continued this weekend.The Auburn coach landed his third commitment of the weekend when Columbia State guard T.J. Dunans committed to the Tigers over Cincinnati, Penn State and West Virginia. JucoReport.com was the first to report the news."The Auburn staff has been recruiting me for a long time and coach (Bruce) Pearl's system will fit my style of play where I can blossom at a high level," Dunans told JucoReport. "I have always wanted to play at a high level and the SEC is a great conference to showcase my skills and help Auburn get to the Final Four."Dunans, who is one of the nation's top ranked junior college players, averaged 22.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game last year at Columbia State. He is considered to be a dynamic scorer and a good complement to the other two commitments of the weekend. Earlier in the weekend, Auburn landed commitments from wing Danjel Purifoy and forward Horace Spencer.
Regardless, we are going to be a fudgeing elite basketball team in 2015.
