Possibly because Washington wasn't exactly a giant killer. He just isn't the same because of that injury. He has a brace and in his head he needs the freedom to move around rather than conform as a pocket passer. Maybe he had his one terrific year but then there are only so many that can play on that level for an extended period.

Regardless of records, Washington has had a lot of talent the last 4-5 years. And a decent coach (shannahan). You could argue rg3's ineptness cost him his job. Their owner put everything on the table on Rg3's success. When he regressed, the whole team regressed. Having Santana Moss and a talented D always helps too.

What is different is the injury. No injury and he might be putting up really good numbers. We can't call him a bum because it's in him somewhere.

Exactly...and I'm not even going to say whose style is very akin to that of RGIII.

I cried for "Old Yeller."

The guy is traumatized by his injury and isn't comfy standing stationary in the pocket like they want him to. They can bench him and accept the loss or they can work with him over the course of this season until he's right again and starts playing like your other favorite Andrew Luck. It's not like Washington is a odds-on playoff contender anyway.

BTW, the Panthers are currently using a similar approach to protect our man to keep him healthy.
