Listened to some Old Crow Med Show this weekend. And some Jason Isbell.

Good shit. Both of them. Had never really gave much listen before. Much better than the shit in mainstream. And as always, Hank 3 is awesome.

The Band Perry - they are from Mobile. And while considered mainstream, they have throwbacks to mandolins and banjos in their music. But that's not my point here.....the thing to remember about Band Perry is the smoking hot piece of property that is their lead singer. Good googely moogely. She makes me tingly in special places. The two brothers that play the instruments are talented but are kind of creepy trying to pull of this combination of an Oasis/Beatles look.

Been more of a lurker here than a poster but I've appreciated the sharing of some good bands in this thread. Many of which I have subsequently ~~stolen~~ bought albums of and introduced into my music library.

SIAP but The Randy Rogers Band is a pretty good group too. Based out of Texas, I first heard them when they opened for Cross Canadian Ragweed (yeah I know...) at the Supper Club back in '05 or '06. They were better than the main act and I've been a fan ever since. I've caught them a few times since at Zydeco in Bham too. Can't search youtube from work to post any samples but their "Live at Billy Bob's" album is winner.

This thread has been dormant for a while. Lots of good stuff we haven't talked about, but I'm not bumping this for Chris Stapleton (although his album is awesome).

I'm bumping it for Wheeler Walker motherfuckin Jr.

(*It should be noted that this is a character from comedian Ben Hoffman. Still actually good music, which is the best kind of novelty act)

I don't remember little jimmy dickens, earl scruggs or roy acuff ever quite singing about that subject matter so matter of fact. Amusing but not quite my cup of tea with that genre.
