What struck me is how short Saban really is. Take that ridiculous thing off his head, move him back to even footing and he barely comes up to Cowherd's chin. Collin isn't that tall. 6-1 or 6-2 at best. But he's got 8-10 inches at least on Nicky. He looks like an NBA player standing there towering over Saban.
Prior to the Iron Bowl in 2007, I was on track to graduate and planned on coaching football. I am 5'7 and was worried at the time about height affecting my ability to become the head coach of the Auburn Tigers.
So during pregame warm ups, I meandered over to about a yard away from Nick Saban to see just how tall or um, short, he really is. Again, I'm 5'7 and he was shorter than me but not by much. I also noticed that his shoes had quite the thick sole to them.
