A good number of our members have forwarded PMs from members of this board asking them to join another Auburn message board.

We think we have a pretty good site here at AUNation. A balanced approach to moderation, simple "act like an adult" rules that mostly cover nudity, namecalling, cursing, and talking down 17-23 year old kids.

The other site is made up of some current and former members (one or two banned ones) and former moderators here and has a much looser standard of conduct. There's some not-so-pleasant history there and we just have very different visions of the kind of community we want to have. That's fine. The day that site opened, one of the members there asked and we posted a link here in the Football Forum to it.

Now, we don't have a problem with people wanting to be somewhere else. No site can make everyone happy. And we don't have a problem with competing sites. Everyone has their niche and many of us post at multiple AU sites. But using our private message system to secretly recruit people for another site is kind of lame.

So to the people involved: We've done enough to help you with traffic. Kindly do your recruiting without annoying this site's members by sending out unsolicited invitations. Thank you.

Somebody better than me with dates should build a real timeline -- starting with when the Duke of the Drillpress and his noble steed Titan came up with the idea for the "owners" group.  I do want the efforts and sacrifice of both wes and kaos/galen to be included in said timeline.
