As one who not only possess a uterus, but used it twice for the purpose for which God intended, and had a C-section both times...
You are not allowed out of bed for 24 hours following said C-section, which is major surgery. You can't move, bend or twist at the waist, raise your knees or shift in any position without pain. Mandatory 48-72 hour hospital stay following. And even when you are allowed to get up, trying to move with stitched together abdominal muscles is a fucking bitch. You damn right that I wanted the man who was a contributor to my condition to be present to assist me. Nurses cannot be there 24 - 7, and even if we could have afforded a private nurse, I wanted my husband. And he needed to have some bonding time with the baby too.
Not only is the mom trying to recover fror the birth and the damage it does to her body, she is trying to recover while dealing with the insane demands of a newborn. Any and all assistance is appreciated. But it's not just an adjustment in mom's life - the dad's life has changed irrevocably too. So fuck Saban and to hell with anyone who doesn't think dads deserve to have a few days to get acquainted with their new baby. I don't care who you are and how much money you make. It's his child too.
