Auburn quarterback commit Tyler Queen has told AL.com he will not need surgery for the UCL injury he suffered March 14 while playing baseball. The North Cobb (Ga.) star saw renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews on Monday in Pensacola, Fla., and said everything went well."They did some x-rays today and an MRI scan and figured out it was just a partial tear of the UCL," he said. "I have to stop throwing and rehab for five to six weeks, then they're going to start me on a throwing program to ease me back into throwing. They said I could work up to full strength sometime in the next two months and it will take four months total to heal it all."The 6-foot-2, 229-pounder was able to throw to receivers during a workout last week, but hasn't pitched since his injury and will be sidelined for the remainder of the baseball season. If the rehab goes well, he will be able to play football for North Cobb in the fall."I'm very relieved," he said. "It's been a very stressful last couple days, not knowing and being unsure of everything. But hearing from best of best and knowing I'll be able to play my senior season is a huge relief."Queen said his father and head coach has been in contact with the Auburn coaching staff throughout the process."(Auburn) is just making sure I was OK," Queen said. "They are telling us everything is going to be good. They just want me to be healthy and rested and be on the safe side."Queen passed for 2,172 yards and 22 touchdowns last season for North Cobb, which finished 9-3. He also rushed for 500 yards and nine more scores. The consensus four-star prospect is rated as the nation's No. 9 pro-style quarterback by the 247Sports Composite. He is currently the only quarterback committed to Auburn's 2015 class, but the Tigers have shown interest in a number of other signal-callers, including Kai Locksley of Baltimore, Md.
