From staff reports
The Auburn athletic department announced a new and less expensive level of season tickets for the 2014 football season.
Auburn has created “Eagle’s Nest” season tickets that are priced at $350 for all seven home games, a savings of $100 off the regular-season ticket price.
The price reduction is due to reduced visitor ticket allotments for the 2014 season, which has created a limited number of season tickets available in the east and west upper decks at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Eagle’s Nest tickets do not require a Tigers Unlimited donation, but the non-renewable seats will not be available for the 2015 season.
“We had a unique opportunity to offer the Eagle’s Nest season tickets for this season only due to the fact that we now play Alabama and Georgia at home in the same year,” Senior Associate AD Scott Carr said in a university press release.
Carr said Auburn’s agreements with Georgia and Alabama require Auburn to hold more tickets for their visitor allotments than for any of the other visiting teams.
The new program is intended to provide “more affordable” tickets for families, something athletic director Jay Jacobs heard requested during his various meetings with fans across the state last year.
“We conducted town hall meetings last summer and our fans told us they would like to see some different ticket options,” Jacobs said. “We listened, and we are pleased to offer this special package for the 2014 season.”
